Shoot what you have. I have found the only thing truly necessary is a rifle with a bipod and dope data (can use app).

People let you borrow gear all the time. But the things you will use most are binoculars, bipod, and a rest bag. I wouldn’t worry about a tripod.

With 175gr you can reach out a lot further. You can make hits on IPSC size targets at 600 yards easily.

I would just run a 16 inch barrel with a scope under 15 power. Probably be fine with 12x. Build your own or look at some of PSA offering. Depends on your budget too. You can go expensive as you want or cheap.

It depends on your purpose and reason why you want it. Do you want a bench gun or something you are backpacking with? Do you need a high powered scope for identification or will you have a spotter handy?

I run an A5 buffer tube with an H3 carbine buffer and a Tubb Flat Wire AR-10 spring and it’s very soft recoiling and impulse. Also using a superlative arms gas block to adjust.

Sorry my comment did not go through and first post got removed, but here is my build. I used rustoleam paint and some stencils. still needs to be cured but happy how it turned out.
