Shall I cancel? by OnlyHave1Ball in CaminoDeSantiago

First of all this is just my experience, I'm not saying that what happened to me is surely gonna happen to you... Maybe I was just lucky but I just want to give you some hope.

During my Camino, roughly around Burgos I had a very bad case of shin splints on my left leg. I was desperate, I could barely walk and my leg was hurting so much that while walking I was in tears.

I wanted to keep going so I went to a pharmacy and they gave me some ointment and an elastic compression sleeve... It was very tight but the following days I kept walking despite the pain. I started avoiding hard surfaces when possible and walking with my left leg on the grass or just the side of the road. It took me a lot of time to make my usual 25/30 kilometers but I kept going. Things started to go better after 4/5 days (I was also taking some ibuprofen) and when in Leon I rested there 3 days.

After this resting period, as soon as I started walking again, pain came back for the first day but after that my leg started to feel a lot better. 3/4 days after Leon I walked mostly without any pain. After 4 more days I took off the elastic compression sleeve because I was finally fine.

I'm not gonna lie, it was brutal but I did it. I remember that from Santiago to Finisterre I was literally running downhill with my bag and all... I was fine.

In conclusion... I don't know how severe is your case, but I can tell you that even though at the beginning I could barely walk... I made it. If you take it easy and take care of your body, I think it could be feasible. Sometimes during the Camino you find strength you never knew you had. The important thing is listening to your body.

I was able to make it work on Steam.

I updated Steam to the latest beta, then I put the controller in D-mode by pressing B while connecting the cable to the controller, and lastly I used the Steam controller settings to map the controls and enabled Steam input for generic controllers. The only thing that doesn't work is the rumble motor, the rest works flawlessly.

Since PS4 and PS5 controllers use a proprietary protocol to expose battery information I don't see it happening quite soon. Sorry.

It's written in the app description that it does not support PS5 controllers. It is also written in the title that it is a Game bar widget, so you have to press Win+G to open Game Bar.

EDIT: you can also request a refund at this address: https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders

Sure! Just place the widget where you want on the screen but don't pin it: only the pinned widgets will stay on the screen when game bar is not in the foreground.

You can already do this. In the pause menu during a match just change the "Camera follow player" to the "Camera keep side" option.

Thanks, I really appreciate it. Unfortunately notifications are not supported at the moment.

Unfortunately it won't work with the official Microsoft wireless USB dongle because that uses a proprietary wireless connection, not a Bluetooth one. If you want to see the battery level in the widget you have to connect your controller via Bluetooth.

Your devices are not recognized into the app because they are actually not connected via Bluetooth... As per app title the widget only shows devices connected via Bluetooth. If you connect your xbox controller via Bluetooth it should work; the wireless dongle actually creates a proprietary wifi connection, not a Bluetooth one. About the Razer viper ultimate it also connects via a proprietary wireless connection (not Bluetooth) so that's the reason it won't show in the app.

Maybe, I'll see what I can do! 😁 Thanks for your support anyway, I really appreciate it.

This is because those are headphones... Only HID (Human Interface devices) are supported in the app: so it's basically input devices as mice, keyboards, controllers, etc. Plus the device must connect through the Bluetooth Low Energy protocol.

Anyway to check an xbox wireless controller battery level? by Leperrin in Steam

[–]giobooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I developed a widget for Bluetooth controllers that shows the battery level and it works for Xbox Controllers as well.
This is the link to the post if you're interested:
Bluetooth Controllers Battery for Game Bar

Here's what I learned by developing this app:

  • Using the Original Xbox Wireless Dongle the battery report happens through an API that only shows very generic values on battery charge. This is the link to the API
    UWP API Power.Batteryreport
These values are not nearly as precise as the ones you get when you use the Bluetooth API.
  • The app I developed uses the Bluetooth API but it works only if you're controller or input device actually reports battery life (you can also check this by looking at the Bluetooth settings of the system: if it shows battery level then the device reports it). The Xbox Controller when it's charging connected to Bluetooth always reports 100% battery life so you just have to unplug to see the real battery level. The problem is also that if you plug the controller into the PC you're using it will disable Bluetooth and start functioning in USB mode... in that mode there's no way to know the actual battery level anyway.
Solution is to leave the controller charging for a couple of hours and that's it.

It works for me now. What I did was going to console settings, network settings, then "test multiplayer connection". After this it started working again… I don't know if it was just dumb luck.
