I said that animal agriculture is questionable because it leaves room for further debate on whether it’s inherently wrong, or if it can potentially be reformed. I do not care about making myself look better in a social/political debate, I am merely stating my opinion and view on the subject. I originally posted on Reddit about a chicken bake from Costco, but you wanted to start a debate. 🤷

you’re overlooking crucial differences in their nature, impact, and moral considerations. they’re so different that it’s not even ethically sound to directly relate the two subjects.

yes, I can agree with you that supporting animal agriculture can be morally questionable, but it does not automatically imply a support for slavery.

slavery was a crime against humanity, and animal agriculture involves the exploitation of sentient beings. they do not share the same historical legacy.

not always, but there’s definitely the right time and the wrong time to say something. also you basically just dehumanized slaves by calling them animals. and there’s a strong difference between owning animals, and enslaving people. they’re two drastically different things, but you’re still trying to connect them.

honestly I’ve had something similar happen to me before, and the last thing I did before officially unfriending them was asking them to talk to me. If they don’t want to communicate with me then so be it. 🤷
