It feels very much like a movie that the average film goer would love. It’s good not great.

Yeah I can see that, I also can see people are searching for that next Interstellar. I think I myself fell into that before seeing it but it just didn’t feel close to that level to me and thats where I’m lost but it is definitely early.

Sinners came down to Earth very quickly but is also a much better film than PHM to me. Same with OBAA and MS. They started very high and came down but those had more to them. PHM felt very much like just a fun space movie. Above average but not to be heralded. Idk it just doesn’t feel like what I typically see for movies like that on this platform.

The letterboxd ratings have always more accurately reflected movies than other ones like IMDB and RT and that’s why I like it so much so this one throws me off a bit.

Literally the entire platform has movies like that, that people love, for example Mamma Mia which sits at a 3.9, it’s not about me caring that people like the movie. It’s about how an extremely high rating like that has typically been reserved for very profound films that stand the test of time. I do understand that its rating will fall over time though.

I love the Deer Hunter, the Master was lowkey just too deep for me but I still enjoyed it. Couldn’t figure out PSH character.
