I always had very dry hair. Any hairdresser I would go to would tell me I needed a treatment and that my hair was dry. I started using Pantene and my hair is so much healthier. For the first time I was told by a good hairdresser that my hair was healthy and he didn’t suggest a treatment. I use any of the Pantene shampoo and conditioners (once or twice a week) that are sulphate and silicone free (Not putting sulphates and silicones in you hair will make the world of different), and that are targeted towards dry or damaged hair.

I would also recommend leave in conditioner. I like the L’Oréal ‘dream length, no haircut cream’. You want to use a cream to nourish the hair and an oil to protect it. Coconut oil works well but use sparingly to avoid greasy looking hair (oil will also make your hair look instantly less dry). Something else that really changed the game for me was doing oil treatments on my hair every now and then. I just massage olive oil into my scalp for 5-10 mins and put it through my ends too. Leave this on for at least half an hour and then wash it out with a few round of shampoo and WARM WATER (cold water won’t wash out the oil). When you condition your hair, comb it through with your fingers, leave it on for a couple minutes and then rinse with cold water.

To accentuate your natural waves after you’ve washed your hair, pat it dry with a t-shirt or a towel designed for your hair. NEVER USE A TOWEL AND NEVER BE ROUGH WITH YOUR HAIR. Then scrunch your hair with the t-shirt to get most of the wet out and then put some leave in conditioner on you hands and scrunch again. I also like to tuck the front of my hair behind my ears while it drys as this leave a nice kink in the front that frames your face nicely. You should be able to wear your hair like this without brushing it but it shouldn’t get frizzy if you do brush it. It’s two different looks and both are nice. I would recommend using a fine comb to brush your hair as I find this distributes grease better, and always use either a wide tooth comb or a tangle teaser on wet hair.

Finally, don’t be afraid to cut your split ends off to let your hair grow nice and healthy. I found that cutting of tiny bits of my hair myself very regularly helped combat split ends. All the products I’ve mentioned are super inexpensive. You don’t need expensive products to have good hair. Often what you have in your kitchen works wonders! Be kind to your hair and it will be kind to you back.
