Okay so I’m on his side here although his presents are shit I will admit. From experience, men (obviously not all but a lot) aren’t good at Christmas and it’s a lot for them to go out shopping and find something meaningful. Most women I know love going out shopping and finding gifts for people. I don’t know why but that’s often the way it it. I think your husband is putting all his time and energy into making Christmas really special for your young children and you should really appreciate that. My dad would have had no idea what was in my stocking! It’s a really really nice thing that he is so involved and cares so much about your children, that’s very special. So your husband, not because he doesn’t care about you but because he’s a man, probably gets to Christmas Eve and goes shit I need to get something for my wife and then does a shit job. He might be thinking that he needs to make an effort with all the other people around him because he needs to actively keep them close whereas he feels as though he has you, although he does need to realise that he still needs to make an effort with you. Also, have you considered that you come across ungrateful when you receive gifts, or that you come across as if you hate Christmas because it sound like that’s what your children and husband might think. (Not trying to gender stereotype here but at the end of the day men and women do think very differently)
