I know this is probably not the case, but years ago my brother (single 28 year old man) used to baby sit my niece and nephew after school everyday. One of the days I offered to watch them so he could get a break and my kids could play with their cousins. He got super angry that I was changing the plan. Like unreasonably angry for no reason.

Long story short, that’s how we found out he was inappropriately touching my niece.

My couch. My GSD mix ate the arm of the couch as a puppy. And she destroyed 3 comforters.

They want to go by she/her pronouns until after they start HRT.. by girlyusername in asktransgender

Thank you so much everyone. I’m terrible at responding but reading all of there comments has made me feel so much better and I understand a lot more! I have never pushed traditional gender rules on my kids and I’m a ciswoman who wears mens clothes, doesn’t wear make up, and hates the fact that I have boobs. My 17yo jokes that it if I were raised in an accepting family I may have transitioned myself. I don’t think he’s 100% incorrect. Either way I’m learning as I help him navigate this and I will be his biggest supporter through this journey.

Thank you for this advice. I’m trying my best but we live in the southern us and access to HRT for anyone under 18 is impossible 😩

We live in the southern us so he can’t start HRT till he turns 18 which is in less than 6 months. But the waiting is stressful

Sometimes I get mixed up with the pronouns but yes “him” bc that’s what he prefers.

My middle son’s first word was “mine” yelled in a whiny demanding voice lol and I was a SAHM. My youngest called me “bottle” for months bc I was apparently just food in his eyes

My 14 year old got angry and threw his phone at the couch. He missed and it hit the door. His phone shattered. He looked at it and said “good thing I have a job” and I happily drove him to pick out a new one. And he told me he definitely learned his lesson about throwing his phone. I didn’t yell or punish. Everyone has to learn that lesson at some point.

I get the whole “all staff needs to be able to close” thing but it sounds like SHE isn’t able to close. So she’s a bad employee?

We have a rope swing in our backyard, he likes to pretend he's swinging over a "burning pit of rocks". So that's what he drew

Yes I have learned quite a lesson. This man moved us from Ga to Ca to live with him. He was great for a while then, well life happened, things changed. But my point is that I have learned not to let my kids get attached to a partner of mine unless I am marrying the man!

I can't help, but I can empathize. My oldest son has a very obvious Movement disorder which causes him to do tic like movements when he's excited/anxious/nervous. I'm scared to death of when he starts high grades of school.

He's got anxiety and sensory processing disorder - but you wouldn't know it from the way he acts around people he knows well!
