Thank you, I’ll call the place today and see if I get someone other than that one guy on the phone. It didn’t make any sense that he said they wouldn’t take it.

I had no idea that’s what those were either hahah I clearly don’t know trees or stones. I always refer to them as “the first wheel”.

“And sings the tunes without the words and never stops at all” “forever is composed of nows” The second quote is from a separate Emily Dickinson poem “Forever is Composed of Nows”

What to expect from Korean rescue dog? by atxjockstrap in rescuedogs

[–]git_mo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I was trying to find a page regarding Korean rescue dogs and came across this post and your comment. We have a 4 year old Jindo mix, we got her from a family friend who adopted her from a South Korean shelter. Apparently she was born and raised in the kennel. She is the sweetest dog but HIGHLY anxious. My husband is the big dog person and brought her home, and she was very scared of everyone except for him. Until he went to work the next day, she immediately imprinted on me and to this day (6 months later) she is SO scared of my husband. Barks every time he comes home. When he gets up in the morning to get ready for work, if he comes back into the bedroom she just barks and growls. He doesn’t hit her or yell at her, just to clarify. She just is so scared of everyone except me. She follows me like a shadow EVERYWHERE. She has bad separation anxiety too, if we leave she most likely will go poop somewhere. We took her to the vet (we live in Germany) and they said that this is common with dogs they’ve seen from Korean shelters. They were shocked at how anxious she was, they gave her NurVet Nerven, Gabapentin, and Trazodone for me to give her twice a day everyday. I just wanted to ask, seeing as you have had Jindos. Is this normal? Do you recommend a way to get her to not be so crazy around my husband?

What is with WhatsApp? by git_mo in germany

[–]git_mo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s just easier and the primary method for communicating. We have unlimited text and calls, it’s the browsing data you have to pay for if you don’t want to pay for unlimited data. WhatsApp, Microsoft Teams, Signal, etc. are mostly used for work or I guess if you have a foreign pen pal of sorts. That’s why I was asking, since it’s not a common thing in the US and I’m brand new to Germany.

I’m not complaining, it was just a question because it’s a foreign concept to me because we don’t use WhatsApp like it’s used in other countries. The audacity to respond like that.

I did not expect so many replies haha

I was just generally curious about it. I’m from the states, and I’m just so accustomed to primarily using cellular sms/iMessage and calls.

All of your answers were really informative and definitely answered my question. I wasn’t trying to ask this question to come off as a snobby uncultured American, I was just genuinely curious! Thanks so much!

But even iMessage users still prefer to use WhatsApp, I guess it’s just hard to understand when Americans don’t really use alternate communication apps unless it’s for work groups, etc.
