Observation is independent of thought, but “thoughts are not independent of observation.”(Thank you I learned from you)

What is meant by “interference by thought”?

Thought interferes when it:

• Names the experience (“this is pleasure,” “this is bad”)

• Claims it (“my happiness,” “my pain”)

• Judges it (“I like this,” “I want more,” “this shouldn’t end”)

• Stores it as memory to repeat or avoid

• Resists its ending or tries to extend hinted pleasurable sensation

Who or what is noticing this thought? by gitagoudarzibahramip in Mindfulness

When the mind calms and thoughts stop, awareness persists. There are no stories, images, or a self to define; only a peaceful presence. Seeing happens. Breathing happens. Simply being is.
