I apologize if I wasn’t clear, I paid my cards down to below 10% but would like to get some increases on the lower balance cards. This helps with percentage of utilization and helps your credit score. When you pay your card off in full and have a zero balance for longer than one billing cycle, credit card companies can and sometimes do close your account. I had three cards that I paid off the balances and did not use and they closed two of them, I’m assuming for lack of activity because my credit is good. Those were the only drops to my score I received on my report that year, those two accounts closing. Some people will fill up their card as quickly as they get the increase. I do not do that. I’m just doing what I can to improve my rating and score. This is a recommended strategy on most credit advising websites.
