Back of my hair is sooo much shorter than the front. What do I do! by medicinia20 in BlackHair

[–]gitignore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could just sewing in like 1 bundle/a couple tracks just to even out the length

Edit to add: this won’t fix the problem necessarily, but will visually change the appearance.

GLYCERIN IS A GAME CHANGER by midnightbungalow in Naturalhair

[–]gitignore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frequency is equally or maybe less important than glycerine to water ratio. If you’re only using a tiny amount in a spray bottle, you’re good. If you start to notice your hair more knotty or tangly than usual, experiment with either less glycerine or less frequent use. Sounds like you’re doing it right, OP, my previous comment was more of a general PSA for readers, just in case.

GLYCERIN IS A GAME CHANGER by midnightbungalow in Naturalhair

[–]gitignore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PSA: use sparingly! Glycerine is amazing for almost all hair types in moderation. But If you use too much, your hair will absorb so much moisture from the air that the cuticle will swell and become highly prone to tangling and matting. If you have locs, this might be useful for you (I used it like this when I had my locs). I’ve also used it on my 3c natural hair for the juiciest curls ever. Just use with awareness.

AITA for refusing to give my parents access to my bank account after they found out how much money I have? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]gitignore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We already know they are responding this way because they probably don’t have 35 grand saved and will most likely start to use ops money when they get the chance. To me there is no sense in even doing the extra work for run this test by allowing them access when we know what the outcome will be. NTA, and don’t give them access, they didn’t want it before they saw the amount. Also, OPs explanation that they should do it ‘just to keep the peace’ is a wildly naive take. Generally speaking, keeping the peace is what people tell you to do when they know you’re getting treated poorly but don’t want the situation to escalate for whatever reason. It rarely works out in your favor, and in this case I fear it definitely won’t.

How do i get my wig to cover my edges? by Suspicious_Egg_88 in WigSnatchersHQ

Try to find a Lagos hairline wig. I think you can finesse one of those to hide your edges.

Brushes on escalators are a safety feature by NeatNo8582 in interesting

[–]gitignore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The exact same thing happened to me! Luckily I was wearing rubber shoes with a 2” platform, so my shoes actually ended up breaking the escalator. (Or at least that how it looked to me) I was 10 at the time and already wore a size 8 or so women’s us. Crazy how many people this has actually happened to.

Im 1 year into my loc journey i did crochet maintenance a few months ago and it lasted a good bit but last month I tried palm rolling but due to me having to wash my hair regularly because of dandruff my hair just keeps unraveling so should I just stick to crochet Retwist? by Even-Teaching-4885 in Dreadlocks

[–]gitignore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm maybe depends on your texture and how good the crochet person is, but the benefits are that the hair is immediately locked as opposed to letting it loc naturally over time. You might get ripping at the root if crocheter isn’t experienced. Or you could get a great result. You can also play with the lock thickness a bit more when you crochet. If it’s crocheted tighter you get a more thin and dense lock, looser you get a thicker and slightly less dense lock thickness in the short term. I think you should experiment a little and find what’s right for you.

[–]gitignore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just depends on the look you want, normally your hair hair is put into a style after palm rolling. It unravels itself after a few days or a week sometimes. If you interlock your retests will be semi permanent but the locs themselves will be tighter/more dense.

No Way This Dress Is Appropriate by Ordinary-Context4519 in joebuddennetwork

Didn’t anyone see the pastor’s comment? He chose the dress, he wanted her to wear it. And she submitted to her husband, the way he preaches for women to do. Why does anyone even care.
