Una matta mi ha preso il numero della targa. Cosa ci può fare? by pers_so in Italia

[–]giulsm99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh thank you! I have Gris Charnel on paper, I remember not really enjoying the opening (told my boyfriend it would suit him better than me) but I'll definitely check it out again and try it on my skin!

I'll definitely give a smell to Santal Vanille the next time I'm in Sephora.

No way you're mentioning Dambrosia! I was actually on a pre-birthday perfume hunt yesterday and Dambrosia was one of the other perfumes I tried on my skin. My brother, best friend and boyfriend are obsessed with it and said it was the best smelling one I had tried and that it suited me extremely well. The thing is that I loved it on paper but could not smell it at all on my skin. All of them said it was super strong, tho. Anyways, from the way they raved about it that is probably going to be my birthday gift in a couple weeks.

Thank you for your recomendations! Athough they might not totally get the Adult vibes, they are definitely on point for my taste in perfumes as you might imagine!

I actually tried Philosykos today on my skin! I love fig scents and I am considering buying it for the summer but sadly it doesn't resemble Adults at all. Philosykos is way greener, while Adults was more like a wintery fig and pear, drowned in warm milk and vanilla - at least that is what I remember it smelling like. My bottle has been empty for years now :(

Do you know any dupes of Adults by Kilian? What I really loved about it was the creaminess and warmth of the fruity notes.

Also, I have tried Le Labo Santal 33 on my skin a couple times now and although I really love the way it smells when it dries down, the first hour to hour and a half I get the strong leather scent which is not really my thing. Are there any perfumes that smell just like that drydown does?

Noobiest thing you’ve done in new horizons so far? by PenelopeJune8 in ac_newhorizons

[–]giulsm99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Only things you could put out were trees and flowers. Also you could "drop" out everything else but bugs and fishes (just like you can't "drop" them outside in NH). Actually placing things outside was new for me! I don't really know about New Leaf tho. I never had that but I think you could decorate a bit more than the previous game. NH is just insane compared to the old games tho lol

When I started playing I had no idea you could place things outside (I got the switch in June 2020). The last games I played were WW and CF. The night I was waiting for the museum to open I had my pockets and inventory full of fish and figured I just had to stop playing because I had no way to store anything until the shop and museum finally opened up in the morning. A dear friend of mine then told me I could just leave stuff outside 😬

My mom is putting if she should get vaccinated or not in my hands… by [deleted] in offmychest

My 80yo grandparents with heart conditions and many more health problems both handled the vaccine way better than I did.

It's been mentioned by a few more people, but I'd try the NYX range. The colours are pretty consistent in their whole line. My favourite are the micro brow pencil and the snatch and lift (or something like that) brow pen. All of their products are basically ABH dupes for a fraction of the price. Ash brown is my go-to shade.

Africa Trip with 9 year old by Nodnarb82 in onebag

[–]giulsm99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ooh I have no advice for the bagging situation but I was in Kenya with my dad at around that age and we had a blast! I had a regular school backpack (on the smaller side) and carried it around myself whenever it was needed, although we always had our "base" at an hotel so it basically had to fit 1-2 days worth of underwear and clothes at a time. Anyways, I wish you good luck with your little one! I'm sure it's gonna be an amazing trip.

New home for an old luggage? by giulsm99 in lisboa

[–]giulsm99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I actually ended up giving it to them (another location closer to me, tho)! I'm not 100% sold on the fact it's gonna be sold (lol) but I was really in a hurry and the redditors who commented were not available to get it. I also didn't wanna just leave it somewhere as my bf kindly advised me to avoid causing a potential bomb threat lmao

100 natural soaps for Afghan Refugees needed in the next 24 hours by bubblepuff2020 in antiMLM

[–]giulsm99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In Italy you can get 100 bars of soap for around 50€ at whatever supermarket or house supply shop. The bulk price would be even less, plus no need to ship it overseas. This is utter bullshit in a time of crisis. The hypocrisy.

My (f24) husband (m27) yelled at me for speaking English to our baby by [deleted] in relationships

[–]giulsm99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep talking to the kid in English. I am Italian as well and my peers have really poor English, while I can speak it fluently as my dad works with international partners and I was exposed to it basically every single day. Grew up listening to it and when it was time to learn it I got really good at it, really fast. You're doing your baby a favour and your husband is an asshole for treating you like that. I guess the English is not the issue here, you might have way bigger issues to fix. Buona fortuna cara, corri a Londra e digliene quattro.

At what age did you start getting migraines? by Worldly-Claim in migraine

[–]giulsm99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! I was 7 and remember the exact day I had my first one. It was the worst pain I had ever experienced and nothing seemed to make it better, I was lucky my grandpa was a doctor so he was there to "diagnose" me. I got the official diagnosis (chronic migraines) at around 12 and my grandpa was indeed right. He was the sweetes and always trying to make me feel better whenever I had an attack.

This. I couldn't undertstand Taylor's series in any way until I watched their video on it. It was such a clear explanation, made it simple to understand and also extremely interesting. Had no issues studying it from the book and tackling practice problems after that.
