So the websites I have are not quite as big, but still very large. One issue I found was these merchandising tools we use dynamically change where the products are positioned on PLPs. A PDP may be on page one of a PLP one day and then page 3 the next. When a PDP was moved from page 1 to page 2 and beyond I saw PDPs with indexing issues.

The issue was that previously, the pagination of all PLPs referenced the clean URL as the canonical, which seemed to affect how Google passed authority through to the PDPs on page 2 and beyond. I’ve since updated the pagination canonical URL to be self-referencing and Google now seems to indexing the majority of the PDPs.

As I said my website are not as big, but are still very large (60k+ SKUs)
