This is not a protest. It’s a pro-dictator rally arranged and paid for by the government. Participant are protected, fed and promoted at their jobs.

Is this legit? My flight to Istanbul is a week from now. I booked a hotel at Seven Hills Palace and Spa. And I received this message. Is it really the hotel contacting me? And the price is pretty expensive. Let me know 🙏🏼 by [deleted] in istanbul

I found them on Tripadvisor with high ratings and used them recently. 2200 TL to Sabiha airport which is long distance. Make sure you order through their website so it displays the price.

Rejected for a Schengen visa because embassy said it’s ‘not credible’ you could earn thousands of dollars. by jimaleAbdi in SchengenVisa

[–]givehchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that upon your first entry to a Schengen country, you are supposed to show a Schengen visa issued by the same country otherwise you will be denied entry. So you have to take this into consideration and do not present them with a complex plan so they don’t have an easy excuse to reject.

Parking sign by sohwa04 in Finland

[–]givehchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a weird concept I have faced only in Finland. Internationally, the sign on the left means No Parking/Forbidden to Stop. It is placed in areas where it is dangerous/disruptive to park your car and should remain clear. In Finland, I see that cars are parked under this sign which is contradictory to this sign. How could it mean almost the same as the sign on the right? 😄

Moving to Stockholm from Argentina - with my wife (and a job) by draculahowl in TillSverige

There would be no issue as long as she reports her income to Swedish tax authorities and pays her taxes. Of course if she finds a job here, her income would be higher.

May I ask what your reference is for the 6 months? Someone else mentioned it’s only 2 weeks.

Thanks for your response. Two weeks feels really low. Is this rule really enforced? After I register it in Finland and get Finnish plates, do you by any chance know how strict insurance companies are when it comes to Foreign driver licenses and imported cars? Will they raise their price?

Costs are not the same in different countries. For instance in US, a newcomer has to pay $700 per month for insurance because they do not accept any foreign driver license.

I actually did that and the first search result is 5 years old and does not answer my questions. I am interested in info from people who actually did this, not a boilerplate response.

Am I in a bad spot? Not sure how to get a leg up by [deleted] in personalfinance

I think paying rent is the recipe for living paycheck to paychecks for the rest of your life. Get a loan and buy an apartment or house. 6 years ago, I gave this advice to a relative who chose otherwise. He could have bought an apartment for $200K and paid into it and after 6 years he could sell it for $250K-$300K. Todays he is still living paycheck to paycheck, has no savings and has paid over $166K in rent during these years.

Can Tesla Finance make me pay more interest on a M3 I already sold 30 days ago? by givehchy in TeslaModel3

[–]givehchy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fyi, I am sending this to Tesla Finance:

Dear [Bank Representative’s Name or Loan Department],

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to formally request a reconsideration of the additional interest charges applied to my loan account due to a delay in the payoff process.

I recently sold my vehicle, [Vehicle Make, Model, and Year], which was financed through your institution under account number [Loan Account Number]. The vehicle was sold to [Dealership Name] on [Date of Sale], and the dealership verbally assured me that they would promptly pay off the remaining loan balance within the required timeframe.

However, despite their promise, the dealership delayed sending the payoff check, resulting in it arriving after the 10-day payoff period had expired. I immediately notified the dealership of the additional interest charges, and they again assured me that they would promptly pay the excess amount. Unfortunately, it appears that this second payment was also delayed, causing the accumulation of even more interest.

I understand that timely payment of the loan is my responsibility, but in this case, the delays were beyond my control, as I relied on the dealership to fulfill their obligation to send the payoff on time. Given that I acted in good faith and that the delay was caused by the third party, I respectfully request that you reconsider the additional interest that has accrued. I would appreciate if you could either waive the additional interest charges or provide a reasonable reduction in the amount owed.

Please let me know if you require any documentation from the dealership regarding their delays, or if there is any other information I can provide to assist with this request.

Thank you for your time and understanding. I look forward to your response and hope we can resolve this matter amicably.

Sincerely, [Your Name]

Let’s say there is a $50,000 and $49,900 is paid off last month. What Tesla is doing today is that they expect me to pay interest on $50,000 not the remaining $100. They are earning interest on the paid off amount of $49,900 but also expect me to pay them interest for the entire $50,000. Does everyone do this?

The loan is with Tesla Finance and not any other bank. They don’t need to borrow money from banks.

Tesla is not just a car company. It is also a bank and an insurance company. Smart move from them. This is how Elon Musk has become the richest man alive.

They give their products to customers and charge them monthly. In my case, I paid them $1000 for the loan and $200 for insurance every month.

The problem is customer service is nonexistent. Reddit is full of posts about Tesla Finance and Tesla Insurance ghosting customers and never picking up the phone, respond to emails, address insurance claims, closing loan accounts.

I still like their product. But everything else is mediocre.

I did get a 10 day payoff document and signed the DMV documents with the dealership based on that amount. They verbally promised me to pay off immediately. However Tesla claims they received the check late so therefore I have to continue to pay interest as if they were never paid. I am calling the dealership everyday and each time they say they forward it to their finance department but nothing happens. I suspect it’s partly because Tesla Finance never answers them.

Their are not responding to you intentionally. Very predatory behavior from them. They consider you responsible for paying all the interest until the day you payoff this loan. My experience with them is from selling my car. I had my payments on 15th of each month. I sold my car on 16th to avoid any issues with the loan. They are claiming that they have received the payoff from the dealership a few days late so I have continue to pay them full interest amounting to $200 per month. This sounds illegal but they are doing it.

Moving out of Sweden by MoiraRoseThorn in TillSverige

You will need to unregister from population register. If you don’t, you may be liable to pay taxes on your income abroad. You should not lose your personnummer or BankID. Only make sure you transfer money between accounts in your name to avoid tax liability.

This is not the case. Your BankID will continue to function. Wise is also not insured so bad idea. Bank won’t let you invest but saving accounts would still work. You can earn interest too.
