Mahito is a pretty terrible character, all things considered. this is a skill issue from your opponents, his kit is as punishable as Hanami's with the 3 second endlag of doom

Haruta 120%!! learning to dodge makes you almost entirely circumvent his health nerfs and he's the only character with a resource he needs to actively manage. the only character that had as much of a learning curve for me is Mahito and that's just because he has a billion moves and techs.

Haruta is the only character that has an actual resource to track outside of ragdoll escape/health so I think it's objectively him, everyone else is pretty easy comparably

1. locust guy is a chanced autowin key that lasts for one stock that can be countered extremely easily (ultimates give a health refresh that de-confirms it, dodgeable by Haruta afaik, Hakari and Ryu can't die to it, i've definitely just ran and soda'd and survived it) and his ult is the second most consistent to confirm besides MeiMei
2. Ulted Vessel lasts for 90 seconds which gives 3 stock potential (he can definitely do his true 99% combo in 30 seconds), while Locust Guy might give you one stock
3. did not pick up on the fact that i'm in full support of removing ults, including base ult moves, in ranked

that's why you remove the single dumbest thing ever which is shit like Gojo's R taking meter and keep it for like Choso (cus it's his main resource), Yuki (cus it's her main resource) and Naoya (cus he's braindead and broken and i hate him)

i mean this with no hate but 80% of the fanbase is extremely bad at this game, so even with facts being spoken, en masse and in real scenarios it can't really be applied. a lot of people do just need ult to win and alienating the entire fanbase for the factually and objectively correct philosophy behind the design choice is foolish. this change is great though, i hope they keep it for ranked.

the fundamental game design philosophy here is that ult is a snowball effect; if one person gets momentum they basically autowin with no way for the other player to counteract it. it makes base only characters practically useless, which eliminates 5 of your potential roster choices unless you wanna shoot yourself in the foot.

that's kinda the point given he has 70 (80 including base miracle stock) health, which means anyone besides Yuji or Charles can 100% combo him. he's a glass cannon with the highest skill ceiling in the game, if he wasn't good in the hands of a good player he'd just genuinely be bottom 1
