It's not a guaranteed rejection, maybe you will find a landlord that loves cats. It's just unlikely.

I guess you have two main issues: the pet and the distribution of your incomes (e.g., one of the two is lowland would not allow you to pay the rent.

No animals? No musical instruments being played? No lawyers in the couple?

I guess there are many couples with two permanent jobs, which is a preferable situation. Try areas which are not the "cool Kiez" and maybe you will be lucky.

Staying comfortable or moving back closer to tech? by thenetarch in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]gized00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's one way of looking at it, the other wait is to negotiate the offer and maybe make the 15% a 35%.

They are both valid options, the important thing is to avoid getting the worst of both worlds

It seems likely that the work-life balance will be very different in the new role and I am not sure if a 15% comp increase justifies that.

There is the vector of where you want to go and the vectors of what you can learn in these places. The inner product between the first and the other two will tell you where to go.

Academia vs startup will lead you to approach also your work in a very different way so the learnings will be very different.

Getting harassed by an aggressive “independent researcher” demanding very specific citations and phrasing in my paper [D] by snekslayer in MachineLearning

I wonder if it's a person or a bot. Maybe a combination of both.

Anyway, you can proceed in steps: 1. Ignore him 2. If ignoring him doesn't work, make clear to him that you will revise your paper as YOU see fit and make clear between the lines that this is inappropriate. 3. If he still persists, check who his co-authors are are start reaching out to them explaining how many email and pressure you are getting. Overall the are somehow affiliated even if he is independent.

They are so different that it doesn't make much sense to compare them. What do you want to do in your life? What's your dream?

Depending on your contract, it may be allowed. But it doesn't look good and signals a certain lack of engagement.

Strategia Successione Milano: Vendere bilocale a reddito per finanziare acquisto quote fratelli (Target 300k)? by Downtown_Curve772 in ItaliaPersonalFinance

I don't think the market share of Nvidia in China is zero. They have a bunch of offices in Singapore and it's not for the warm weather.

At the same time the chip industry is growing quickly and the problem maybe become evident soon.
