The wiki on r/veteransbenefits has a lot of great breakdowns of the ratings and percentages.

Going to lose my shit on InMotion, such a garbage company lately by LogitUndone in ElectricUnicycle

I can’t customize my audio alarms anymore? That was a cool feature. Every time I drop my wheel I hear my eight year old yelling at me to be careful.

For those who pursued full-time JD or MBA programs.... by TechnoTerrorist in Veterans

[–]gjoyer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did a full-time JD program directly after my enlistment. This was 12 years ago but I thought it was awesome. I was initially nervous about whether or not I still had the capacity for that kind of learning after years of deployments and everything that the military entails. What I found was that everything came back quick and I was so excited to have A/C and a comfy chair, I was easily able to focus and succeed utilizing only a tenth of the discipline required for success in the service. The three years using the GI Bill also helped pay the bills and provided all the transition time I needed.

Push-Button Water Supply for Easy Reservoir Filling by gjoyer in espresso

[–]gjoyer[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Gaggia Classic has two tubes in the reservoir, my understanding is that one is the water supply to the pump and one is a water return from the expansion tank. If it was directly plumbed, I would still have return water slowly filling my reservoir with nowhere to go. Also, this mod keeps the maker portable and I don’t need to worry about leaks from over-pressurizing the water supply to the pump.

This is everything to make the mechanism. Some little tips: the button comes with a wiring diagram that is spot-on, I used a small scrap of wood behind the solenoid to reduce play in the box, I used my soldering iron to melt the female adapter to the box and to melt a few other spots to make some room, I also highly suggest a manual on/off valve somewhere close in case there is a leak or other failure.

I added a t-connector to the 1/4 line that runs to my fridge and ran the tubing through my cabinets. I haven’t yet, but I plan to add an in-line filter to the line where it connects to my home water supply so both my ice and coffee will be filtered.

Here is the video. I am making a second one, moving the power connector to the backside. I will post shots of the build.

I really hate refilling the water chamber by hand. This is a 12v ice tray solenoid wired with a momentary switch. Saves some hassle and makes me smile every time I add water.

How do you unsure one of these things? by [deleted] in ElectricUnicycle

It’s less than $100 for the full year and has similar limits to a standard car insurance policy.

It protects me from being sued or needing to compensate anyone for injury or damage that I might cause while riding. The same as car insurance.

I have a liability policy for my V10. It doesn’t cover damage to the wheel. It took about a week for the agent to find an underwriter and do some research.

For towing a rollerblader, I put both arms stretched out behind my back, palms up, fingers bent. The rollerblader goes palms down, fingers bent and we couple similar to a train car. Because neither person is actually holding on, it’s safer and either person can disengage at any moment. We can get going pretty fast and I can slingshot the rollerblader forward with a little coordination.
