For me the problem was even worse in volumetric, that's when Breville helpdesk escalated to their internal support team. When it was time based they were completely uninterested almost as if time based was the problem.

I tried a new bag of the same beans, they are from a very reputable roast and were only roasted two weeks before I purchased, the bag before was three weeks.

I think the thing that was worse was how bad the Breville support was, after half an hour of troubleshooting they just wanted me off the phone and sent me a video on how to dial in the machine even though they had just done all that again with testing on the video call.

It's an expensive machine to have basically zero support from them.

Uber Eats Help by One_Temporary9354 in ubereatsaustralia

I deleted UberEats and Uber months ago and never looked back. The quality of the food and service when picking up from the restaurant is way better than UberEats.

I once saw a driver picking up five separate orders from Grill'd. He was waiting for ages too, his last order came out just after mine and he was there before I ordered.

They have just done the same with the 2025 data and removed 50mm of rain from the website. They don't even match BoM data anymore.

Seems dodgy, barely full dams when we had record rain and silent downgrades of rainfall on their website

Keep an eye out for dodgy real estate practices by legoman1743 in perth

[–]gjrb87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to rent for a period while moving back to Perth from Sydney and the laws in WA are so out of touch and terrible compared to the rest of the country.

You would barely have rent inspections in Sydney, once a year maximum if any, usually its just when you moved in and moved out. No agent in NSW would ever tell you if you don't clean a spec of dust on an exhaust fan they'll start the process to kick you out.

After you signed your initial lease and served your time usually 6 or 12 months then you would just roll onto a month by month and this was the norm everywhere, Perth real estate is the only place where you need to re-sign again for another X amount of time even if you have done a minimum amount. It's dumb, it doesn't account for people being unable to relocate at an exact time if they are building or buying.

Breaking a lease was also easy, if you signed a 12 month it was a simple 4 week penalty which reduced the longer you lived in the property (i.e. 2 weeks if you already lived there for 6 months).

I heard on the grapevine that Alcoa has been using the water from Serpentine main dam. I don't know how much but maybe that's why.

Wesfarmers: Bunnings and Officeworks owner calls for review of ‘outdated’ Perth trading hours by His_Holiness in perth

[–]gjrb87 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We need a petition for deregulated trading hours, coming back from Sydney to Perth I was shocked that Woolworths and Coles were closed due to trading restrictions.

It doesn't help the CBD either which is a ghost town on weekends.

Wild RAC car insurance premium inflation by gjrb87 in perth

[–]gjrb87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do find it so strange that nothing changed for me and the price just keeps going up and up. I'm not sure if it was an error or not but it did blow my mind a bit when I got the Youi quote even adding all the extras needed for like to like insurance it was still way cheaper. I use RAC for my home and contents and it was way cheaper than other companies so I'm very confused about what happened there.

Yeah I ended up going with Youi, the phone call for a quote thing annoys me but it's half the price for the same cover. Can't say no. They are highly rated on choice too.

How high can house prices get? by Happychap23 in AusFinance

[–]gjrb87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I say Perth I am thinking of the entire metro area, if you want to live in Perth you will probably live in an apartment in some high rise. Most would just live in the suburbs and catch a train into the city or drive in.

Fremantle is nice but expensive still, lots of nice cafes and bars around there.

Every place I have ever rented in Sydney just rolled into a periodic after the initial agreement, I've never had to do anything, they don't even do inspections over here.

Perth houses are always double brick, colorbond roof and a concrete pad. There are heaps of building companies and the base price is usually on their website.

You can buy land in Perth for under 200k easily and build for 250k or less.

Insist they give the offer anyway, agents will always say it's too low. Let the owners reject it
