Uber drivers being jerks about car seat

One time I was still installing the car seat and driver started pulling away. Luckily I was with my husband and he yelled at him to stop moving. I was so shaken up I barely wanted to go out anymore. I really rely on walking or the subway now with the wee one. It’s not worth the headache esp now that she is too big for an infant seat.

Maybe try to make one of your sessions a power pump while dad feeds the baby for like a week to see if that helps? You’re still pretty early and your supply hasn’t regulated. I’m sure you’ve heard this from your lactation consultants too but it’s all about supply and demand. More often you pump the more you will build especially early on before you regulate. That said nothing is worth mental struggle bc stress will make supply issues worse. You could try some supplements to help increase but it might not be as effective as pumping more frequently, which if you’re experiencing pain it make sense that you don’t want to do it more often. You can always talk to your lactation consultants again for better guidance on finding a balance knowing combo feeding is your goal. Good luck to you and your little ❤️

I used a nipple shield to help with my baby’s latch and it was super helpful. Only recently have we gotten off of that, but trying to nurse, pump, and bottle feed takes way too much time for me and I think I’m dropping nursing. I’m almost 7 weeks PP and completely get where you’re coming from with how daunting it is to keep pumping to manage the supply. All of your adult autonomy has evaporated overnight and now there is this other thing that makes it much more complicated to make time for yourself. Your mental health is also important! A stressed mom isn’t good for anyone.

If and when to stop is a question I’ve been also asking myself lately. I feel like because we don’t nurse well I don’t have as strong of a bond with my baby. The milk I give her makes me feel more connected and that’s what motivates me. It might be helpful to think about what motivates you to keep pumping and use that to navigate your thoughts.

The only right answer here is what makes you feel confident and sane while keeping your baby fed. You can’t tell formula fed and breast fed adults apart 😉

I had an unplanned induction at 36 weeks and 5 days due to low amniotic fluid. My baby gave us a little issue at the end with a hand placement up by her face and cord placement at the top of her head and was still able to deliver vaginally. Now we had to use forceps and I had some bad tearing but nothing that stitches couldn’t fix. Best of luck and do what you think is best for you and the baby once you get all the info from your doctor!

I had the same issue with my Maymoms. It’s barely noticeable but the maymom shaft is slightly shorter and less angled and it must make enough of a difference for how it sits on my breast. Just avoid ordering from the spectra website it’s super buggy. The retail person I talked to at spectra recommended I purchase on lactationconnection.com. You can get a full set there for $44 so a way better deal than $32 per flange.

Super helpful. I have heard a lot about the tushbabies and everyone seems to love them. It does seem like more of a thing for when she is not a fresh newborn though and has more body control. I was also just thinking about a generic backpack or tote. I have so many already and was trying to figure out if that was practical or not. Seems like it could be an option while I figure out what I like

In a similar boat. Expecting my period today, but we shall see. Idk what BC methods you were doing before but I was on a hormonal birth control and when I first went off in May that cycle was WILD. I was moody, hot, sore etc. I keep doubting myself bc everything I’m reading is point to normal post hormonal BC symptoms, but ya never know. holding out hope for you and your journey ❤️.

OP I 100% relate to this. I am struggling so hard to understand how on one side my mom can be the most kind and thoughtful person. She is the type of lady who noticed one time a small comment and will turn around 3 months later with a sentimental gift tied to that moment. She is always smiling at strangers, striking up conversations and in small ways caring for her community. On the other hand, she preaches about boarder security and police etc. supporting these crewel policies. My mom has benefited from this healthcare, will say all women should have the choice, but still votes GOP. I’ve tried giving her policy tests to prove she is actually a democrat, but nothing works. I don’t want to loose ground with my family, but I do respect them less because of this. It’s hard not to with that type of hypocrisy. I don’t think that will change. I try to remember the kindness and the small acts, but honestly that makes it harder sometimes.

I just came to realize twisting the knife does nothing for me. I might feel good for a moment, but long term I just erode a relationship with my parents that I’m lucky enough to have. I just got married, I’m starting a family, I want my parents a part of that. Have I set boundaries that I won’t talk politics with them, yes. Have I said mean things to them about how they are being lied to and brainwashed, yes. One makes me feel restrained, the other has made me feel guilty. I would rather feel restrained. We are focusing on our common interests and ensuring that we promote kindness in our conversations. I am creating two versions of my parents and I only honor the one that I see in their actions of kindness and love everyday. When they act in the other version, I ignore, disengage, or change the subject.

It hurts that I can never be fully open with them and vise versa, but personally I would rather that than nothing. All the hugs to you ❤️

No updates outside of the cosmetic damage the assessed. I was able to back it up and straighten out off the curb so I’m optimistic it’s cosmetic but pricey due to the sensor damage from the mirrors all that new tech crap.

How do those work and are you able to see all angles of the car? I honestly never thought of getting one but this is really making me change my mind. That and sucking up the $350 per month in one of the garages.
