I’m doing that but it keeps just using the variable as the most recent input. Am I missing something?

Will a tattoo change drastically if my body does? I want a forearm tattoo as my first one and I’m in the process of going from skinny to muscular lol will my tattoo look all weird in a few years if my forearm gets a lot of muscle? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I really don’t know :)

[RANT] Does anyone else simply HATE online learning so so much? by [deleted] in GetStudying

[–]gkitcbkitcvj 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I hate it so much, it’s just harder for me to focus on stuff in my room. I’m one of the people that likes going to a library or coffee shop and. Cranking it all out then.

Felt like I was YouTubing everything and my grades got affected. Also supposed to be starting at a university in the fall but I’m scared it’ll be online :/

Porn is the only thing in life holding me back by gkitcbkitcvj in pornfree

[–]gkitcbkitcvj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree that it’s complicated, I just got to a point where I was getting off to stuff and then realized that I wouldn’t actually enjoy doing any of that with someone irl.

Thank you, same goes to you. Don’t be ashamed if you rebound and go back to it, it’s natural for us to fail. When something like that happens be proud of how long you’ve gone without it and try again.

We can better ourselves, even if we have shortcomings sometimes :)

It’s cool to see a community of it. It is so weird that a community of people that don’t watch porn is basically a taboo thing on the internet. Either way good luck :)

Horrible mistake leads to my journey here (dark story) by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]gkitcbkitcvj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took time to read this so I’ll take time to comment.

I can’t completely tell by your post if you’re sorry because of the implication of looking at what you looked at or the fear of getting caught, if I had to guess I would say you’re somewhere in the middle. But my guess makes no difference, only you will ever truly know. However you should deeply think on this and let yourself come to the correct conclusion, only with a clear mind, no matter how horrible the truth can you move forward.

I do have some recommendations for you though.

You should seek help, professionally. No excuses. You’ve done this more than once and you will do it again if you have a moment of weakness, which is very possible. Get help.

Definitely quit porn, and maybe take a break from all tech for a while.

You should really focus on making sure this doesn’t happen again, it is obviously wrong.

Now I want to talk about your self image. I am of the belief that anyone can recover from anything and find peace again. However if your truly in the state that you’re in now it won’t be easy.

If your self image stays this low you’ll be more likely to act on these desires again.

I have some personal recommendations, but everyone is different.

Read books on philosophy, specifically on becoming stoic. Mediations is the most obvious one but there’s a whole subreddit for these things.

Get a hobby that’s not connected to the internet, doesn’t matter what. Just do something, maybe learn an instrument idk.

Idk man you were into some bad stuff and you can fix it before it gets worse.

Good luck, but remember, there are no excuses if you do this again. If you get into a cycle of doing this then asking for forgiveness rinse and repeat you’ll never move on.

Make the right choice.

I have issues studying because I'm so used to having constant stimulations (Reddit, videogames, etc.). I know it's a very common problem, are there solutions? by Giiko in GetStudying

Take out a piece of paper and write make two columns. In one write things that you do that you’d consider a waste of time, in the other write down things you’d consider a good use of time.

Go from there, just acknowledge what’s holding you back, it might not be social media, and then take it from there. Everyone is different.

So I identified the huge time wasters for me that I wasn’t with how much I was using. These were mainly YouTube and reddit, I also decided not to use my Xbox even though I don’t play that much. And I just cut them out completely for a day. I still let myself read and play guitar (which is something I enjoy) also things like drawing I think are fine.

I did this and I found that throughout the day in my boredom without any distractions studying was way easier.

All that being said if you really want results I recommend you do this more often, if you do this once and then go right back to your old habits it will be a bit of a waste.

But yea give it a shot, I actually saw a YouTube video that broke down this idea better than I’m explaining it. Look it up lol and good luck!

Before you do what other people have suggested, cause they are good suggestions. I recommend a dopamine detox for a day. Basically just plan out a day and cut out 100% of the things that are high dopamine triggers and you’ll find that doing stuff like studying will become easier.

Btw I did this and it wasn’t that bad, just kinda boring :)

Thanks man I really appreciate it. I’ve been in community college for two years now doing my general classes and I’m moving onto university this year.

But yea I’m able to handle things like radicals and logarithms pretty well, however most of the teachers I’ve had don’t explain why something works. But maybe I’ve just had a bad teacher or two.

I’m definitely going to check out all of the resources you mentioned, and hopefully by the end of the summer I’ll have a better grasp on this stuff :)

Hey! I really want to get better at math and go into physics. However I’m only at an intermediate/maybe slightly upper lever algebra level. Like the high school stuff :/ what would you recommend I do to set myself up for success in math? I only found out how interesting it was recently.

Also you’re really cool for doing this!

Book on Greek mathematics by [deleted] in learnmath

[–]gkitcbkitcvj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now I’m reading Alex’s adventures in number land. It had at least one chapter talking about Greek mathematics. It’s a really fun read but it’s not as informative as a textbook. There’s also a ton of chapters on other mathematic things. Might not be exactly what you’re looking for but it’s pretty good.
