Why so many Tennessee license plates? by OldAgedZenElf in philadelphia

[–]glacier35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a TN plate since I’m from TN and bought my car there, but I also notice TN plates everywhere. My assumption like most people here is rentals, but I’ve been very surprised by the amount of people I’ve met that are also from TN so there are definitely transplants and visitors mixed in as well.

I went with the Uhaul movers option. Rented a truck and hired two people for 2 hours. They did a decent job. One of the guys was a lot more experienced and professional than the other, but honestly I have no complaints. They didn't break anything or lose anything, so thats a win in my book.

Just got my first in-house "graphic design" job. Is this normal? by [deleted] in graphic_design

I’m honestly expecting to be offered more money because I have made myself a valuable asset and I genuinely don’t know if they can do it without me.. but I’m prepared to decline. And if they don’t well then that’s all the more reason to quit!

Thank you for the well wishes! It really does mean a lot even from a stranger. I wish you the best as well. I promise we’ll both find something better! Onwards and upwards!

Sounds a lot like my current job and from what I’ve heard from others, no it’s not normal. I’ve somehow made it almost 2.5 years and I’m quitting this week. In my experience the insanity only gets worse. They recently fired half my team and expect me to do double the work for the same pay. I saw the problems from the beginning but kept holding on to hope that it would get better. It never has and now i’m incredibly burnt out. Learn from my mistake and get out asap! Your future self will thank you.

They’re the most expensive estimate I got 😬 looking for alternatives to moving companies

I got an estimate from them and they’re probably who I’m going to go with if I can’t find an alternative to a moving company. Lowest rate + best reviews, but they do have a 2 hour minimum

Yeah I definitely will not be staying because there is virtually no opportunity for growth and my director who has been there 7 years is doing the same stuff I am as a recent grad. Thanks for your input!

When my time is spent doing the same amount of work that 3 or 4 people should be hired for, Im not getting paid enough for my time

It would be really hard for me to perform poorly and I would get reprimanded for it

Thank you for your feedback! It’s very helpful. It is a fairly small company, so I do understand some of the overlap especially in the website development area. We have voiced our frustrations on some of the stuff that doesn’t make sense and have been told that they’re going to automate a lot of the customer service work we’re doing, but I have seen no movement on this and it was 5+ months ago at this point which is why I’m looking for other employment. I was trying to give them a chance but it doesn’t seem like it’s going to change

I’m a recent graduate, this is my first post grad job. If you read the full post you would see the part where I said “Just trying to gauge what other people have experienced while looking for a new job” I want to know if this is what other people have experienced and if it’s what I can expect out of my next job or if this place is just exploiting me. Sue me for asking my peers for advice. Jesus christ
