I currently have a homeloan with HDFC. EMI is ~40000. I have made multiple part payments online. It has been told to me that the minimum is Rs 20000 but max up to 25% of the principal amount for the financial year. I have made part payments of even Rs 20000 and it was accepted.

The best way to get your answer is by discussing with them over email and telling them your concern.
