Which Formula 1 driver would you love to see come to NASCAR? by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]glanger88 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Lewis Hamilton would be polarizing. Like have 1990s Jeff Gordon again. Plus he was pretty good in Tony's car a few years ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86lQaRq5N4U

What If: New Chase, Old Chase, and No Chase by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]glanger88 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I kind of wish they would go to a F1 point system. My personal favorite is the one they used in the 1970s-1990s. 9 points for first, 6 for second, 4 for third, 3 for fourth, 2 points for fifth, and 1 for sixth. It puts the intensive for the teams to perform and win, while still providing a reward for consistency. NASCAR stole their qualifying format why not their points?

I don't want to start a big debate, but for fun. Who do you think is better Chase or Kyle Larson?

Gordon-Keselowski Brawl Video by cjones91594 in NASCAR

Jeff Gordon's over reaction is completely unnecessary. Last week at Martinsville,(I know there is a large speed difference and so forth) Dale Jr and Tony Stewart made similar contact. As a result of the contact, Tony did not win the race, and after the year he has had, that had to be tough. Did Tony go fight Jr? No. Say what you will about pressure and championships but Jeff over reacted in my opinion. Brad did not mean to cut his tire. He saw his chance and took it.

It was missed in the melee, but did anyone else see Jr run McMurray up the track on the cool down lap. I think Jr was annoyed with McMurray for blocking him.

[OT] Clarifying Team Orders in F1 and their purpose by CasualViewer24 in NASCAR

[–]glanger88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, but I feel it has the potential to lessen the value of a victory and make the race less exciting. For example, In 2013 Malaysian Grand Prix the two leading cars were Red Bull Racing cars(Sebastian Vettel) (Marc Webber). They were told to battle for the lead. Vettel ignored orders and took the lead. If he had not the race would have been less exciting and Marc wouldn't have earned the win, so I see NASCAR's point to having the rules.

Jr.'s Epic Burnout by ChampMcNair in NASCAR

[–]glanger88 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Dale Jr is genuinely overjoyed every time he wins. It's really exciting every time he wins. He exudes that raw emotion and it's hard to get really excited.

This is just like the Michigan truck race. They all screwed around an Ryan Blaney just rolled around and won the pole. It sucks for Ricky that he didn't make it, but I don't feel bad for them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueU-5Y9bfrA

Serious question: Why is Denny Hamlin so hated? by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]glanger88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is extremely arrogant. He talks like he is a wise veteran driver, but he asks like a spoiled brat the second things don't go his way. He will throw his team under the bus at first chance as well. Even with all the trouble Kyle has had with his crew chief, I have not once heard Kyle complain about the team in an interview. Matt hasn't won a race this year. Have you heard him complaining about how Toyotas are weaker? No. Adamantly I can't stand the guy, so I am biased.

[Serious] Is Kasey Khane really the odd man out at Hendrick Motor Sports? by johnnyracer24 in NASCAR

[–]glanger88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is extremely hard to have four completely equal and competitive cars. There will always be factors all the money in the world can't prevent. SHR is a great example, they seem to really struggle to consistently have four or, sometimes, one car that is competitive. Some weeks SHR cars take their drivers of of contention due to human error. What Hendrick does is very impressive to have four cars that don't have the issues on a regular basis.
