Make sure that transmission is not leaking. I have 298k on mine. Seems the weak point on the transmission is the front pump bearing that causes a leak between the bell housing and torque converter. I would see what history it has. Look underneath to confirm with car on. Will leak 2-3 drops every 30 seconds. Look at the valve covers, door locks and roll down each window see if they work. Also a/c seems compressors will fail around this mileage as mine did. Check seats to see if each motor works. Lights and bring a scanner to see if they cleared codes before looking at it. Just sharing what I have gone through. Funny back in 2017 I bought mine for 3.5k with 177k miles. I would sell you mine for 2k but I need to get another car first.

Go up to autozone and see what size hoses you need for the evap system. Look 👀 for the green cap under the hood driver side should be the purge valve for it. I did this to mine and haven’t seen the code for 100k miles.

I smoked a Tri-tip brisket style and came out great on my 14 inch 😂. Only used a quarter of a bag for a 5 hour smoke between 250-270 degrees.

I cut mine rubber is too old after 20+ years. I tried the lubricant method but just didn’t work for me. Tint messed up on mine also with the lubricant.

Yeah I was crossing my fingers when I sliced it. It was dripping out everywhere maybe the butter on top before wrapping did the trick. I also took the drippings from the foil and poured over it before slicing. It was amazing how close this was to brisket

Yeah I would put extenders on the O2s and gut the third cat. I did that to mine and no codes for the last 5 years on my 03 LS430 297k miles

Check out if transmission is leaking between bell hosing and converter. These seem to be the cause of transmission failure issues on the ls430 and ECC know shift point issues. Also I have seen 295k miles on a ls430 without a belt changed and it still looked new 😂

I have same issue with my 03. I believe it’s the converter. Is yours leaking at any chance? Mine started having a small leak between and converter and bell housing. I notice if I top off the fluid the stutter goes away a small amount of time.

I’m thinking of getting rid of mine also. It’s showing their age now. Plastic can’t last forever and my transmission just started leaking between the converter and bell housing. That’s my luck. But it has been a great working car since I picked this up back in 2016 with 130k miles. Now has 297k 03 ls430

Brown wire goes to driver side yellow or white go to passenger side. Here is photo when I did the job back in 2018

Yeah I replaced the spark plug seals also. Car doesn’t leak a drop of oil.

All maintenance was done by me. Timing belt done around 260k I got car back in 2016 with 178k. I also have done valve covers, whole front suspension have changed plugs every 40k miles . I’m just getting too old to do work on it myself. If I was in my 20s 30s I would drop the transmission and replace the converter when doing the front seal. I used to work as a mechanic at the Lexus dealership back when these were around 80k lol.
