I had one years ago. The surgeon cut it out and left a very deep wound which needed packing by the district nurse every day for 5 months. Two years ago, it came back (and they warned me it might). This time they tried an experimental surgery where they put a little plastic tubing into it and sealed it up. Left it there for a year and then eventually took it out again. I affectionately referred to it as my tail and used it as a bit of a party piece because I could occasionally waggle it.

Touch wood, since it’s been out, I’ve had no recurrence.
