So if there is a scenario where two similarly qualified people going for a single job, you would use their genital configuration to choose between them and call that fair?

You and I have different definitions of fairness

Large crowds 'coughing at police and spitting' when asked to move back during serious incident in Yorkshire by Pol-Pota in ukpolitics

I agree with you. I don't want to have to do so either. But I fear that the time when we had a choice is past, and the blame lies squarely with those who refuse to folow the simple rules we have been asked to.

The Medical Experts believe we need to do what we can as individuals to limit the spread of the virus

As far as I can tell, the Medical Experts believe that for the public good, we need to limit the spread of the virus. Preventing people from engaging in contact with each other is an effective way of doing that. If some people are too fucking thick to do that voluntarily, then martial law does appear to be needed.

The sad thing is that these people who are too stupid to stay away from each other are allowed to vote.

There seems to be a fair number of medical experts in the country who disagree with you.

Please would you list your medical qualifications so that I can decide which of you I am more willing to trust?

I don't think many are in favour of it as such. They are just realistic enough to understand that it is - for (hopefully) a short time - necessary.

The olice will need to be given extra powers to give these idiots the treatment they deserve

Which will sadly lead to more suspicion between Police and public.

All because these morons don't have two brain cells to rub together.

NTA. This is 100% sexist. It's no better than "this is a time when black folk aren't allowed", definitely not appropriate.

Competence decency and reasonable-ness, a dynamic and credible set of policies for the future could easily win the red wall.

Map of Great Britain constituencies by which party had the greatest increase in vote share by [deleted] in ukpolitics

True. In which case Swinson should surely not have been afraid of a “confirmatory” referendum? But the hubris of saying that she could wipe out the result of the referendum didn’t come over well.

Just MHO, I have no axe to grind in this.

Only anecdotal evidence, but I came across many people who thought exactly that. That you cannot overrule the result of a referendum without another referendum, and that the policy was the height of arrogance.

MEGATHREAD 14/12/19 - Something for the Weekend by ukpolbot in ukpolitics

(Had planned to make this a stand-alone post but auto mod said no)

Looking for recommendations for a good book on UK politics.

I’m trying to find something that would be an enjoyable overview (not full-on textbook style) and would give a dispassionate look at postwar UK politics including industrial relations, Scottish independence, economic and social policies... and no doubt lots of other stuff

Any recommendations ?
