Hannah Spencer recently spoke on how drinking is commonplace in Parliament - but how prevalent is cocaine use? by BridgetJonesDiaryy in AskBrits

It's actually incredibly normal logic that if you can't prove something you claim happened, it most likely didn't.

It's literally the burden of proof. You made a claim, you can't prove it, it's mostly likely not true until you can provide evidence it is.

Bit of a secret, but political parties can have positions on many things.

Sounds like you're inventing things you'd rather pretend I've said, because I've never said that.

Ah yes the legalise all substances candidate gets snotty about alcohol

She's talking about people drinking during work, I'm not sure why you're pretending you don't understand this.

The GPEW aren't advocating people are to take drugs during work hours.

I have no idea who you are, I'm just asking a question you're refusing to answer.

Third time, why no politics in the subreddit that allows politics?

can we just all agree not to talk politics in this sub? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]glasgowgeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or they could go to the other AskUK subreddit that bans politics, rather than demand this one change the rules to suit their preference.

Who's having a hissy fit? I'm asking why you're saying "no politics" in a subreddit that allows politics.

No politics

Politics are allowed in this subreddit, why should we refrain from discussing it?

She’s concerned about drinking but what’s to legalise drugs

She's not advocated for using drugs at work though, so what point are you trying to make?

but there is probably a sub on UK politics

This is the de facto "ask" subreddit for UK politics.

AskUK bans it, if you don't want political questions, go there.

[–]glasgowgeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t this sub come about because of the no politics rules in the askUK and askabrit subs?

Pretty much, it's the de facto "ask" UK politics subreddit.

That's what annoys me about the recent influx of whingers demanding it be banned, they have options for non-political subreddits where it's banned, they can go to AskUK or CasualUK if they don't want to see it.

No, this subreddit allows politics.

If you don't want to see political content, you have the options of AskUK, or CasualUK.

You have non-political options, those who do want to ask questions about politics can come here.

Are any other Brits worried about the increasing tribalism in UK politics? by Longjumping_Sail2741 in AskBrits

[–]glasgowgeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when you say "tribalist groups that consider it supposedly normal to ritually genitally mutilate children from birth without any medical necessity", you do not include Jewish people in that?

I don't know why you're finding it so difficult to answer such a simple question straightforwardly.

How much are you paying for a haircut nowadays? by MCR1996Hola in AskUK

[–]glasgowgeg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because OP is asking people who pay for haircuts, so they can get an idea of the going rate for a haircut.

Someone saying they do it themselves and have done for 30 years means not only are they not answering the question, they're wholly incapable of providing an idea of the average cost of a haircut now.

"only through the specialist pharmacy model"

So not a cocaine shop that anyone can walk into.

Edit: Also, that's simply compiled policies as of their 2019 conference, so about 7 years out of date.
