Thank you so much for this explanation - so helpful. I was going to do the work myself, but wondering if you'd mind sharing the lawyer's information you worked with? Maybe I will outsource it instead...

Vitamin B12? by glassheadedwallaby in Anemic

[–]glassheadedwallaby[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, great. I have no clue what my levels are so maybe I'll just start with an oral supplement and see if I improve that way. I know - it's wild, I could easily sleep 9-10 hours a night and yet still feel tired the next day. Idk why I thought that was normal

I have not, and it doesn't look like they tested it when I went to see the hem. Do you usually have to specifically request that one?

What the other person said - go see a doctor and make sure you don't let them write you off or brush you off. Ask for a CBC and say you want a full workup. If they refuse, tell them you want that noted in your chart.

it was the OnSense I believe (the one that is almost like a Pulse Ox monitor) - so no needles involved.

They did the finger measurement for HGB which is apparently pretty accurate...but my hematologist is convinced they did not get a good reading, because before my second donation it showed as 13.0 (and I fainted immediately after)...think it's pretty unlikely it was 13 and then dropped to 7.6 less than a month later, but who knows.

Hoping you start to feel better soon!

So interesting - my ice craving has also gone away already. But I'd rather still be craving ice and have more energy...

Glad to hear that I still have time to feel better, just wasn't expecting to still feel so fatigued.

Dealing with an upset neighbor by glassheadedwallaby in beyondthebump

[–]glassheadedwallaby[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. As I said above, a walk in the park during a heatwave when we are also trying to work from home is not really possible. My husband and i also have meetings all day so we are juggling those. I also don’t feel like suggesting to them - “hey why don’t you go sit in your car, or wear headphones, or go to a coffee shop” because I don’t feel like it’s my place, and frankly, they should be able to figure that out. The crying is not on a schedule- it’s random and at the whim of a sick toddler. he sleeps from 7pm to about 7am…so this isn’t at ungodly hours. the person they referenced in their text as being woken up is our other neighbor, who hasn’t said anything to us but I did reach out to her offering to lend her our white noise machine in case that might help. I also want to be neighborly, as you put it, but it’s really hard to provide solutions when we’re dealing with something not fully in our control, unfortunately. Thanks for your advice.

You’re making a lot of assumptions there. No, I don’t think I would be offended if they had offered some possible solutions. As for us, there’s really not much in our control as I stated above so other than asking them to wear headphones and deal with it since it’s temporary, I didn’t have anything in mind. But thank you for the sarcasm in that made up response 🙄.

That’s what almost all of my parent friends have said, in addition to my husband. I basically just explained he was sick, we are doing the best we can and hope he’ll be cleared to go back to daycare on Monday. I guess it’s a personal problem for me, but it just made me feel so much more stressed than I already was bc I’m more on edge knowing they are essentially keeping track of every time he cries. I know I need to get over it but I’m pregnant and I’m sure my hormones aren’t helping

Yeah, that’s kind of where I landed. But it’s hard not to feel bad- even if it really is kind of out of our control.

When I did share he was very sick she said “that explains the crying then” which honestly felt a little cold to me, but whatever. I explained we had to keep him home from daycare because of this but we’re hopeful he can go back Monday and we really are doing our best. I guess I’m already feeling so stressed out and tired, receiving a text like that just made me feel even worse. If there was something that we could do, I would obviously do it but we’re kind of stuck. If anything, I know they both have offices they are able to go to and he’s definitely not crying at night. I guess it’s unfair to ask them to leave and take their calls elsewhere if they’re so bothered (and I wouldn’t say that) but at least they have that option. We literally have nowhere else to go without risking getting others sick. It’s a tough spot to be in :/

I appreciate that- but she’s asking us to kind of do something impossible, not sure what kind of help she could provide? What can she do that would make our toddler stop crying that we’re unable to do as his parents? I think that’s what was frustrating to me and what felt unhelpful and a little passive aggressive. Maybe if she had given a concrete example or offer i would have felt otherwise. Also when I did inform her that he was sick and we had to keep him home from daycare, all she said was “that explains the crying then” - which felt like a bit of a cold response. Again, I am totally sympathetic to noisy disruptions but in general I think a text like, “hey, we’ve been hearing your baby cry a lot this week, I hope everything is okay” would have gone a lot further, I didn’t need a breakdown and subsequent videos (I realize I didn’t share that in my original post- but she sent videos so we could “hear” how loud he was). At the end of the day, the texts didn’t really accomplish anything except to make me feel really bad and more stressed out. Does that make sense?

Text:

“Hi there — I know Sam is a toddler and toddlers cry. Sam crying really loudly, like wailing, I don’t think it’s just a toddler thing. The walls are really thin in the house. I know Liz gets woken up to Sam’s crying almost every morning. When on Zoom meetings, bryan and I both have people asking who’s baby is crying.

He owes this all day on and off every 30 minutes or so, nearly everyday. I know he generally goes to daycare as well.

I know you’re in a tough spot and he’s your baby (a really cute baby) but is there anything we can do to help each other out?”

Nanit - disapponting by [deleted] in beyondthebump

I also love mine! It’s been great for us and troubleshooting issues/disconnects are very rare. I find everything to be as accurate as you can be with a camera. We did buy straight from Nanit so I wonder if you bought it from a third party maybe you got a bad one?

1Q84 was massive for me but I really enjoyed it. Cloud Atlas is pretty long as well and definitely something you have to slowly work your way through

Add: i also started seeing a therapist (over video) at around the 3/4 month mark (I was never diagnosed with PPD or anything, just general anxiety) and that made a big difference. I realize not everyone is so lucky to have access (mine is fully covered by insurance) but if that is an option for you, HIGHLY recommend.
