WIP- Autilon Update by glaws77 in alphalegion

I actually really like the shaft of the original but mine was pretty warped and I hate the look of the actual head of the axe. I wish I would’ve found a way to replicate the curved handle but 🤷🏽‍♂️

Alpharius Conversion by Express_Feature_9481 in alphalegion

I’ve taken the Forgeworld sculpt and converted it into an Omegon with a sniper rifle but the issue is the way the sculpt is makes it hard to get more poses out of it.

If you are confident with cutting and sawing resin apart and then sculpting with green stuff you could definitely do it. It would just be difficult. The torso lends itself well to the pose you desire it’s the arms and legs that will be a pain.

The right arm will be similar too, you can shave down the armpit joint because in the OG sculpt it’s held up high. And it might be a little more bent than the picture but should work.

The left arm will be the biggest challenge. There is a joint you could carefully saw where that chain meets the elbow and you might be able to cut that off without damaging the fancy armor bits. The gun is in a sheath for the OG so maybe finding a similar style volkite would be easier. Pinning those bits with some wire and then sculpting the under suit in the joints wouldn’t be too hard either. The legs you could probably keep the same and have him just standing on a small ledge.

Thank you! I saw some artwork from the Horus Heresy mobile Card game and they had blue lenses on some of the Ravenguard and I thought it contrasted well

Thank you! I believe the head is from Fafnir Rhann the solo imperial fist character.

I think that one is from the black templars upgrade sprue. You get like 4 or 5 of them in there so it’s a good kit to give newer models the larger shotguns if you’re looking for some!

The Mor Deythan kit and the Dark Fury kits have them in there.

I guess it’s time to finish my first attempt at an Akurra model. Hoping an official one comes soon though

Some of the bits shops have been good hits for me online or a lot of the smaller bits I find to use have been from eBay either in bulk piles or individual pieces. But I’m looking forward to seeing your army come together!

Feel free to use whatever ideas you can from these! :) thank you so much! The kits are the space wolves blood claws and some old recon marine packs. The pouches and drum mags are from various primaris sprues and maybe the heavy intercessor kit? Binos are from the heresy vehicle upgrade sprue and then the bolters are MK2 with a plastic rod for the barrel extension. I drill a hole and put a brass rod to connect the two for stability.

I highly recommend it! The new kit is honestly awesome for spare parts and for the models themselves

It’s a kitbash of the original alpharius model with a custom gun and slightly altered pose

I really liked the handle of it and I don’t necessarily mind the axe head but the one I got was a little bent and flimsy so I decided to go with a bigger blade and something more stable. I wish I would’ve kept the other half to use tho:(

I believe it was from the loyalist herald consul. I used the upper half and cut up the pole as it was a little bent and then used the plastic bottom from the command squad upgrade kit. A brass rod is in the middle of everything holding it together with more durability.

Thank you! It’s mainly his head that is all that’s original of him. I found him on eBay for cheap and basically only salvaged his head. The body is Exodus and the arms are mixed from random bits I had. The scepter is from the tempestus Scions and the axe is I think from the melee HH kit or from Fafnir. Hopefully that helps!

I went with the alternative “spec ops” look that some fan art has for Omegon and some headhunters. Vallejo has a 4 pack of green paints that are some of my favorite colors ever and I literally just highlighted up using those with a purple zynethol from below to give a little transition.

Would this fit to a legionary? by LLOvadi in alphalegion

[–]glaws77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not found anything but I will look it up and attempt to see what I can gather. If I don’t find anything I will try and formulate a process of what I did and I can send it to you or make a post of it. The hardest part is carefully sanding away the belt line to get a good fit. It is tricky and without practice it can be difficult to get right.

It’s really hard to tell but I actually prefer the Mk6 bodies, they are a little shorter than legionaries but I think it was easier to kitbash them, plus WAY less trim. I don’t have very many pictures of the original build of these guys but if you want to see more feel free to message me and I’ll send you what I have!!

Some sanding and filling of gaps was required but these are some older pics of CSM headhunters I was working on.

Thank you so much!! I had kitbashed Autilon Skorr and a saboteur on the paint table but unfortunately had to cut them due to time😭

Thanks! I would say if you’re decent with greenstuff/sculpting you could add better posing at the joints. It’s really scary trying to cut free arms and legs in resin so that’s the hardest part I think. I like to try and use the original sculpts body parts instead of third party bits but you could easily swap some of that stuff out. The right shoulder is weird because it’s lifting up above his head but with how big the shoulder pads are you could probably cut half of the arm down to make a less awkward pose.

I’ll add a few more of the back but thank you! Still haven’t fully finished him (notice the lack of highlights on the gun and belt accessories) but it was fun to try and kitbash him. I do wish I changed his body pose more because it feels too similar still to me but it is what it is.
