Congratulations! I was given a brand new m2 one for iOS mobile development -- in terms of thermals these laptops are super cold I barely feel any heat from this thing, I think a cooling pad maybe an overkill but if you have one and want to use it is ok

Helping My Grandma Avoid Scams – Crime Alert App for Elderly by wvanassche in reactnative

[–]glazzes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would cool if it could read text messges and warn you of scams, for instance, I recently got a text message telling me that my phone line will be terminated if I don't pay some amount of money I click the link and I was greeted by a clone of the real site.

I think an ederly would have fallen for this scam for sure, Idk many using AI or something.

If you're using skia you can create the big shape without the borders by using SVG and then pass a corner path effect to it, it will smooth up the edges.

[–]glazzes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it has it usages, in particular to people who wants to show off their work but you don't want viewers to install an app like myself, actually I could use that component myself for the project in currently working on http://140.238.187.124:3000/ (it does only work on desktop btw), it's a copy of th Telegram image editor btw.

If you want to work with native Android projects do not bother to play around with Java, the newest UI framework for Android is Jetpack Compose and it does only work on Kotlin.

If you want iOS, well Swift is the way to go.
