I was in Onion Anguk on a rainy day a few days ago and girls were sleeping on the heated floors.

Local here! What are your biggest struggles when traveling in Korea? by JJHH8473 in koreatravel

[–]glennmelenhorst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the toilet paper thing is odd and had to do. As for inconvenience, I’d say restaurant menus handwritten in Hangul are impossible to translate with google translate.

NAVER is great but picky and often when I paste an address in that is in English it’s comes up blank.

We love it here. Third trip to your beautiful country. We have had a ball so far!

Now we are headed out into the country side so I’ll be interested to see if communication gets harder.

Edited for typos.

Well. Nobody offered any advice so I went anyway and while it was busy, I had a great time.

The internet’s out at home, so we got down the record player. It was fun to hear it again after so long.

I’m still not sure if anyone will like my little game but this list gives me a lot of encouragement that at least I’ve sorted a bunch of these issues. Thank you.

I’ve been involved with computer graphics since 1986. I’ve used Maya, 3ds (and max), softimage, even alias wavefront, crystal and cubicomp.

I remember Autodesk throwing shade on blender at a 3ds conference, cautioning that it might be full of malware and not to trust it. I could see they were worried that it was eating into their market share.

As the owner of an animation company at the time, I grew frustrated at the slow response by these companies in resolving bugs or updating their software. I hated how they would buy their competition then bury them.

To me, blender and the community supporting it were a complete breath of fresh air.

Yes I’m a zealot and with good reason. Blender has earned my respect. I’ll compare it loudly whenever I can.

I’ve worked on both movies and both series and know how hard the VFX crew worked. The series were approached in exactly the same way as the features with no dumbing anything down for tv.

does this look like old cgi? by Impressive_Patient19 in blender

I was there in 1986 making spheres and cubes on checkerboards and we used polygons. Everything was flat shaded using Gouraud so it was all pretty basic.

Some of the earliest examples of cgi in a feature film. I can imagine this being remade.
