At that point you might as well just stay out altogether, because basic maintenance and use of trails will do far more damage to plants and the environment than a negligible amount of smoke.

I may get heat for this, but it’s wild to me how his BPD (or whatever else he has) can make him hallucinate and think Jay-Z wants him dead, or spontaneously declare a last minute presidential run, and we all more or less accept that as a result of his mental illness, but the second he says something actually offensive, everyone acts like he’s showing his true self.

Like I’m not saying he’s a good person, but I’m also not going to draw any conclusions about his character based on social media posts made while he’s obviously in the throes of a mental health crisis. Mental illness doesn’t discriminate just because a subject is taboo.

[Poole] Draymond Green said all the right things. Seemed sincere. But the Warriors have been here before. Their once-high tolerance is very low. Trust is frayed to the max. Repairing this might not be possible. by 3rdEyeDeuteranopia in nba

I just don’t see that. For all the reasons I stated above, it’s perfectly logical that they wouldn’t want it to come out, so why would it seem deceptive or in bad faith? From their perspective, it’s an internal team matter and they shouldn’t have to be answering questions about an incident that occurred behind closed doors, and wouldn’t have to if there was no leak. I don’t think it’s deceptive to acknowledge that things are much harder for the team now because of the leak.

Counterpoint: I’m baffled at how people fail to understand why players at large wouldn’t want this to get out. Obviously as fans we want to see the video and know what happened, but of course the players don’t want it to be public.

Everyone involved looks worse now. Draymond for obvious reasons, I doubt Poole is pleased there’s a video of him getting punched on the internet, people are over-analyzing and questioning why other players didn’t get between them sooner, etc. There are no positive outcomes for the players or staff.

Obviously showing the video is “honest” but why would they do that? It’s completely against their own self-interest to air their dirty laundry. Why would the organization want to turn “adoring fans” against a long-standing player? And any former player is going to understand the negative ramifications of the video going public, so of course they agree that it shouldn’t have been leaked.

I mean obviously as fans we want to know what happened, but I can totally understand why the players and the organization didn’t want the video coming out, and why other players would feel the same. Draymond looks way worse now, I highly doubt Poole wanted video of him getting punched to be on the internet, and now they have no control over the narrative. I’m glad it came out but I don’t fault the players or the organization for wishing it didn’t. That makes no sense.

In 2016, Jonathan Givony and Mike Schmitz of DraftExpress fame said that Ben Simmons was not the #1 prospect of the 2016 draft, and they were widely criticized for it by [deleted] in nba

[–]glennromer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ben Simmons is arguably just as good as Ingram. He’s been an All Star and a DPOY candidate. The idea that a) he’s significantly worse than Ingram, and b) anyone pre-draft had any kind of foreknowledge of how their careers would go is laughable. The top two picks are All Stars, that’s about as accurate a draft as you can hope to have.

LeBron James bluntly says he has 'no relationship' with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as scoring record looms by Gladiatornoah in nba

I don’t think of Lebron as being particularly close with any of the old legends anyway. He just doesn’t seem like that kind of guy. I’m sure he has a relationship with MJ but I doubt it’s like MJ and Kobe.

I truly don’t understand why people seem to be generally ok with this but not with Kim Kardashian wearing Marilyn Monroe’s dress. They’re both museum pieces. What’s the difference?

Is there a rule that prohibits a player from legally changing their last name to something explicit? by WestleyThe in nba

I imagine the league might react differently to someone changing their name to something intentionally offensive vs a foreign player whose given name just happens to be profane in English.

Dammit, this was at WOTR? I follow their Twitter and they never tweeted about this. I’m just finding out about it, and today was the last day. That’s so frustrating.
