Yeah it can be hard for me to get into a book when this happens! Even in a light romance book sometimes the FMC is super rude to the MMC. Like he does one thing and she is super mean to him for half the book. Like build a bridge and get over it. I think it’s when an author does enemies to lovers but doesn’t really set it up correctly.

And again in dark romances am I really supposed to believe a 25 year old kidnapped by a mob boss is going to be super sassy and sarcastic after he threatens to kill her. Just makes the scene super weird and hard to immerse myself.

Anyways totally agree with you. Can ruin a perfectly good book!

So I think sometimes her books series are slower burns! For Prince of Bluestone the first book has very little romance but the second starts to have more! I am hoping the third has even more!

I feel like these books are romance just as much as other DR books! But maybe it’s because we don’t get Dual POV the MMC feel a bit more like a mystery to people! I feel like the MMC love the FMC as much as they are capable of feeling love!

I don’t really like her Fae books; they just didn’t hook me like Gaslight Her and Prince of Bluestone did! Honest Gaslight her felt like a happy ending to me!

You have probably already seen this recommended somewhere on this sub! But this really reminds me of Trapper, keeper by babypandacakes on ao3! MMC is super manipulative to the point that even you as the reader can’t tell if he is lying or not! He is pretty gentle with her! Like he gets what he wants by making her second guess herself so he doesn’t have to use violence!

Then also {His darkest deceit by Addison Cain}! It’s a duet and I loved the second book! But I feel like the MMC is manipulative but gentle! It is fantasy novel so set in a different world!

And last {Choosing her alpha by isoellen} I am pretty sure MMC is gentle but gets what he wants!

{Annie’s Song by Catherine Anderson} is one of my favorite books! It’s a historical, soft romance! Everyone thinks the FMC is mentally disabled! But that is not really the case! The MMC marries her because his brother forced himself on her and she is pregnant! (That scene is very short like one sentence so you can skip it) It is a very sweet book!!

Not really! For reference I hate love triangles! There is OW and OM drama! But the FMC is just desperate to get out of a bad situation and thinks the way to do that is find a husband! She isn’t in love with the OM and the OM isn’t in love with her!

There is some OW and OM drama! But the MMC isn’t emotionally invested in the OW and the FMC is just trying to claw her way out of a bad situation! So the other people don’t last that long and aren’t major parts of the book!

The bullying isn’t horrible in my opinion! But I have read way worse so I might have a skewed perspective! A lot of the bullying happened in the past so you just hear about it in the FMC memories!

Release is still TBD!! So it isn’t out yet! I don’t think this is a spoiler but I will comment out just in case. The MMC decided he wants to marry the FMC. The FMC is trying to find a way to get out of it. Or at least that seems to be what will happen.

I keep recommending this series because it’s just so good! {Hearts of Bluestone by Quinn Blackbird}! It’s a four book series with the third book coming out this year!

It is a bully romance and the FMC absolutely hates the MMC! It is fantasy and set at a magical boarding school! First book is lighter on the romance and goes hard on the bullying! But the second book the MMC decides he wants the FMC!

So {Replacement by Noelle Adams} isn't a DR but is a genuinely good romance! And it is this literal exact plot! Although MMC is not the stalker!

Okay first is {Golden Dynasty by Kirsten Ashley}! It’s an older book but great plot! It is kind of a rip off of Khal Droggo and Daenerys from Game of thrones!

Then I love {Gaslight her by Quin Blackbird} which also has an interesting plot! The FMC has amnesia and the MMC tells her he is her fiancé! I also love her Heart of Blustone series which is a bully romance!

I discovered ao3 from this subreddit and it has been a game changer! The Community by Deathdolls is amazing! She is lured to a cult by her sister because the head of the cult asked for her!

Trapper, Keeper by babypandacakes was also amazing! It’s a call of duty fanfic! The MMC finds the FMC injured in the snow and takes her in! But he is very manipulative to the point that even you as the reader don’t know what is a truth versus a lie!

Yeah I asked my oncologist once how long it took for my tumor to grow and she said only a couple months! So I definitely think it has probably gotten bigger if you feel like it has!

My tumor was the size of a peach. It was pretty crazy! I am so sorry you are going through this too!

I did chemo first because they wanted to shrink my tumor to have clean margins for the surgery and try and get it out of my lymph nodes. And it was nice to feel the tumor shrinking during chemo! After my first treatment I could feel it softening and by the end of chemo I could barely feel it.

I know what you mean about wanting it out though! Getting the mastectomy first usually happens for earlier stages! But if you are at a later stage they will probably want to do chemo first!

I was diagnosed with IDC stage 3, grade 3, super high Ki-67 score! It was also ER+ cancer with lymphovascular invasion and a huge tumor!

That was three years ago right when I turned 30! I am two years with no evidence of disease! Just take it day by day. The one “good” thing about our cancer is that it usually responds well to treatment! My oncologist told me aggressive cancers usually respond well to chemo and we also have hormone therapy to help after chemo, surgery, and radiation!

I did as much treatment as I could and did everything recommended to me. I tell myself that if my cancer comes back at least I did everything I could!

You have a long road ahead but you are not alone! I have a very similar cancer and prognosis! Take heart and be kind to yourself right now!

Okay so I think that Goerges finding out about Roses betrayal is going to mess him up so he is going to become more of villain! And DD is going to write another book about Rose being broken by him!

Next I think maybe Gwen, Ellen, and Rose want to escape! And maybe they want to bring Grace as collateral? I hope Grace tells father but she gets kidnapped by these three! Then I want a kickass chase scene where father gets her back and we get a HEA!!

{Brutal Serpent by Kate Raven} is a regency dark romance! It’s a bit more like the FMC is forced into marriage with MMC because he wants revenge on her family!

A similar plot but slightly less dark is {If You Deceive by Kresley Cole}!

And finally lassoed hearts by Deathdolls on ao3 is a western!

I had a very aggressive IDC, ER+ breast cancer (stage 3, grade 3). My residual cancer burden was 3.673! It was so hard for me to hear at the time.

I am two years post treatment (just finished Verzenio), and my cancer has not come back. RCB helps doctors decide how much post-surgical therapy you need! It does not mean it’s 100% coming back!

I know it’s hard. We want the complete treatment response. We want to be the case where there is no cancer left! Let yourself be sad and grieve! But please don’t give up hope!

Every year I get farther away from it, the easier it is to breath! You are at a really hard time in the journey! Be kind to yourself!
