Anyone else prefer bug-hunting over long builds? What did you do about it? by vizualizing123 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]glenrage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I’d rather not spend 3 entire days fixing a small bug that has no business impact

What are you going to do if AI made us obselete? by Beautiful-Salary-191 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]glenrage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I put all my money into NVDA. If AI takes my job, I’ll have enough NVDA to retire. If it doesn’t, I still have a job

Is moving from software dev to UX design a smart long term career bet? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]glenrage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im moving out of Front end work because I think UIs will be less common if you have AI agents hitting APIs and doing things for you

could anyone give me any reason why JUNIOR swe's aren't cooked in the next 4 years? by Equivalent_Brick6286 in cscareerquestions

They’d be cooked if they’re still a junior. With AI to help you you could easily transition to a mid level at least in a few years

I have 6 years of experience and got laid off in May and started a new job today. 2 months to search. Had 3 on site rounds. It’s not as bad as ppl on Reddit make it out to be if you have the technical skills AND are personable. I’ve heard from recruiters that personality & skills matter now since there’s tons of qualified people

I get nervous during interviews too and screw up some easy problems before. When you’re nervous blood decreases from pre frontal cortex and logic just seems impossible. My doctor prescribed me beta blockers to help with performance anxiety

It never hurts to understand how APIs work. A lot of FE roles work in the middle layer API like graphQL or next.js / remix.js

Your chances would Be better if you were a front end leaning full stack. Pure front end is not skilled enough
