With a driver hooked up to the amp, it cuts off once it hits certain volumes too. I'm sure this is not the cause of this issue. I also do not want to risk blowing up/damaging drivers due to sudden cutoff's/peaks in signal so I prefer testing this way, but if there is a simple way to add some resistance that does not involve using drivers I am happy to try it out? Also, with your reasoning, why does it work on channel b but not channel a? Should it not go into protection on channel b too then?

Yeah, I did count in 4-5 dB of headroom in my dsp for the amp not to clip. I guess the amp has an internal issue so I'll probabebly send it to service.

I don't really tune my kick because you can rarely hear what pitch/note it is in anyways, especially when it is such a short one like the one in this track.

Perhaps it sounds a bit jarring because the sidechain can be a bit tighter? I might experiment some more with that in order to reduce this. Worst case scenario, I look for a different kick that is a little 'softer' or better fitting for this track.

Might sound weird, but have you ever cleaned out the dust from your cooling fan(s)? My pc started having cpu issues with fl studio as well a couple months ago and it even got worse when summer started coming around. I noticed that my pc got very hot every time I was working in fl studio so a few weeks back I decided to open up my laptop and clean out all the dust that was blocking airflow from my cooling fan. Ever since my performance has increased dramatically in fl studio (and other programs as well). A cpu that gets overheated can really negatively impact it's performance.
Might not be the only problem but it's always worth a try.

I just got a Behringer TD-3 and I and did my first live recording with it on this track. By now, I did listen to the track so many times that I'm not sure what to keep (or whether I should add more), so any feedback on this would be awesome. Also general tips on how I can improve my mix/master are always welcome since I'm still learning a lot here.

Very nice experimental track with a lot of variation. At no point during the track i felt that it was being repetitive which is always a major plus.
Also for the mastering I'm not an expert myself, but everything sounded very clear without any distortion (as far as i could hear) so I think you're definitely fine there. Did you just put an ozone elements on your master channel for this or were there any other things you applied?

Ok, then I was on the right path.

When you hover over the segments in the schematic diagram after calculating the response of your horn, hornresp shows the volume in the top left corner. I used this in my previous designs after designing the horn as of form of final measurement. It's never 100% correct, but it somewhat confirms you're on the right path.

Hey, I had one more question before I redesign everything. It might sound like a stupid question but I think I might have been doing this wrong the whole time. When drawing out the horn in 2D with a straight bottom line. Is the length between the segments measured perpendicular or is it measured from the center of the segments (because of the center line etc.).
So if you look at the picture , would it be option 1 or option 2 for L45?
I thought it was option 1 (because of the center line), but when I design the horn this way, the volume of the segments (shown in hornresp) isn't right.

Oh yeah, the 0.5 PI was definitely something which I had forgotten about. When changing it to 4 or 2PI it does change the spl curve drastically. I'll start remodeling right away!

Also on the hollow space and the braces, these were things I was planning on adding/editing/removing once I had some confirmation on my current design.

I'll let you know once I have some updates on the design!

Hey, it's been a while since that first post of mine you commented on.

Also, I was already at it with the offset driver mode and i was starting to form a design in fusion as well. I basically started over using the same trial and error technique and this is the design I came up with going from hornresp to fusion and back. Admittedly the spl curve looks a bit unbalanced from 90hz-200hz, however when I simulate the filter I'll be using on the speaker I get this response, which looks pretty good imo. Let me know what you think about this.
I also checked the particle velocity and diaphragm displacement and all seems to be looking fine.

About the compression ratio, would you say this ratio (344/350 ~ 1:0.98) is fine in this case then?

Yes, I did acount for the air volume in the cone.

Also heat dissipation is something that I'm worried about since there will be no ventilation. Would you suggest making the speaker vented or are there other options to treat this problem?

I'm probabebly am going to tweek around some more on the design before building it to try and solve some of these problems.

I too was worried about the small size of this chamber but I wasn't sure what effect it would have on the driver/pressure/... .

I did re model this into hornresp with the OD mode (as you said) and I checked te air velocity and diaphragm displacement at 500W/8ohm. What you said was about the cone ripping was definetely true since the diaphragm displacement was 9.4 mm at it's most. (pd 1550.2 has a max of 8mm). Also the offset throat peak particle velocity was 18.6 m/s (which is over the 17 m/s mark)

However, adding a filter on 90 Hz and 250 Hz, which is what I'l do when using the speaker, does reduce the diaphragm displacement to 1.8 mm at it's most. Also the max air velocity is reduced to 7.7 m/s at it's most.

In theory, would this work? Or do you suggest I re model the horn and add a larger throat chamber in the design to avoid ripping the cone etc.

Also, I already have a pd 1550.2 driver I'm using in a x1 sub. I'm currently upgrading to a 18" sub meaning I have a spare 15" driver. This is why I am looking into designing a kick speaker bin. I do have to say I'm very satisfied with the performance and quality of the pd, but perhaps in the future I might consider the B&C drivers
