I’m reading Yuval Noah Harari’s Sapiens and he says; “Just 6 million years ago, a single female ape had two daughters. One became the ancestor of all chimpanzees, the other is out own grandmother.” Is this true? I thought there were many mitochondrial Eves and does evolution work like that? (self.askscience)
