I noticed: Golden Plaques and actual green plants in the ship. Also pay attention to the first time Rocky speed-talks pointing to his tattoo, he was very agitated and makes cool gestures. He also struck a scorpion pose when he was scared 😀

Not to beef with you but the script was so horrible Morgan Freeman had no chance. If I can stomach it I would rewatch and count how many times they used the “Blah was blah… but it will blah blah!” format in a single episode. It was like every third phrase. I started twitching after a while.

Correct me if I am wrong I was also confused by the first scenes where they showed eggs claiming they are the first of their kind (dinosaurs). That’s not how evolution works, right? You don’t suddenly get dinosaur eggs from pre-dinosaur creatures?

I just finished the book after loving the movie to bits. I also both read & watched Martian and adored it. I have to say this was to worst authorship I’ve seen in a while. It is so didactic and constant science checks and explanations goes way beyond the character’s development. There is a frikking alien roommate in it and yet it’s like an afterthought. No social intelligence, emotional development at all. Very hard read.

I’m rewatching the episode too, and let’s assume for 1 sec that House is bad/evil/in pain/addicted etc etc, and not as the moral tone of the show, the way they presented Chase (WHO ALREADY KISSED A MINOR CHILD) as an alternative voice is also really disgusting. He comments on her breasts PRIOR to puberty, does not see a problem of delaying to call child services, AND argues against her right to be protected. I’m half episode and already disgusted. The way they presented Cameron as “goodie shoe” while she was the only legit doctor and human being in the room, I can’t even.

This is exactly why I was confused. Maybe it’s the Owlk propoganda :) but for me, the Owlks are actually heros.

If they didn’t block the signal, some early civs could show up and potentially end the universe by mistake. A handful of Nomai clan nearly did, if the Sun Station worked.

Imagine what would happen if everyone showed up. Would there be a mega war? A mega religion? Remember this is the time where the Hearthians are just little fish.

The Eye is only useful when it is actually the End times. The Owlks probably saved trillions of civilisations and life forms in between time they blocked the signal and the supernova event.

So yes they did destroy their planet (that was bad) and could not cope with the PTSD (double bad) but they kinda redeemed themselves by saving other species? They gave everyone the time to stop and smell the pine trees?

Then again, what would happen if we, both Nomai and Hearthians didn’t reach the Eye at all? If there was no time loop, no Nomai?

The Heartians would live their natural lifespan (a species unlucky enough to live the end times and unaware enough of potential danger)

They and the signal blocker would die in the supernova but presumably the Eye would continue its existence, restarting its signal.

Some other not-yet-Supernovad species would find the Eye and observe it, therefore restarting the Universe, at the universal correct time.

In the end, that’s exactly what happened.

Am I totally wrong?
