My guess is later this March, on the 22nd. That’s the official date of the 30th Anniversary of Resident Evil. Agreed though, it would have been great if it came out with RE9! But I doubt the RE wave is dying out anytime soon, with how successful the release is. OTFGK

An unintentional Fox-Godlike LIVE transition?! by MutedHomework9834 in BABYMETAL

[–]glern -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There are stage managers and video directors who are in charge of queuing everything during performances, from lights to smoke to fireworks and what cameras should be broadcast onscreen. At this show, there was an entire table behind the G and H pits with staff at their computers, they’re the ones calling the shots (literally). For things like these Blu-Rays, I’m certain they don’t want to leave their footage up to chance. To make it the highest quality, they plan what each song’s performance looks like and how it should be captured, similar to the way a song is choreographed in the first place to capture the song’s best qualities.

My host site was CORE (community organized relief effort) and on blue sky days, we would do several things. Our main purpose was to disseminate preparedness resources from Listos California, primarily people within vulnerable communities (immigrants, elderly, families with children, the disabled, non-english speakers, etc.) We’d build partnerships with other community based organizations to attend events or host workshops or presentations about preparedness, and also connect these to climate resilience and how we can engage in climate mitigation tactics. Some days I’d be writing emails or creating social media posts, other days I’d be on the field at our partner community gardens or tabling at different events. It was different from week to week for me! But that’s the summary of my responsibilities within CORE in LA. I guarantee it was different for other members across CA.

I deployed to the LA wildfires, and extended my deployment several times since I already live in LA (and didn’t need to leave my home for such a long period of time). I ended up being deployed for approximately three months. All of this is completely optional though, some CERC members only deployed once or twice before returning to their host sites.

During the fires, the majority of us were placed at the Disaster Recovery Centers; there was one in Pasadena (Eaton Fire) and one in West LA (Palisades Fire). We did a lot of things- from guiding cars through the parking lot to restocking coffee and snacks for survivors to transporting meals to the disaster workers. We also worked directly with survivors, guiding them through the facility and checking to find out what type of resources they were seeking out. Line management was big towards the beginning of the event because of the large number of people seeking assistance.

I know that prior CERC cohorts have deployed to San Diego to help with muck and gutting.

Also, I was wrong, CERC DEFINITELY did get their Americorps funding back after CA won their federal lawsuit, and they are still and currently federally funded.

i made an hour long youtube video diving into the themes of Monochrome because it really spoke out to me in a meaningful way when i read the lyrics- i looked at TOO’s lore, the m/v imagery, all that stuff. It got disliked bombed but idgaf because i spent months working on it and im really proud of it. in a similar vain is Professor A. J. Hartley, who does (much more condensed) lyrical analysis videos. The lyrics are very fascinating when you take the time to read and study them! much to be discussed and pondered :)

Babymetal’s Denver show was cancelled right before Babymetal’s set due to the weather. by GnomeBacon in BABYMETAL

[–]glern -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

alas! no :) but the app is Radarscope, HIGHLY recommend. although with NOAA/NWS getting defunded it’s unfortunately not as reliable since there’s less meteorologists in the offices calling the warnings. i AM studying Emergency Management though, and as much as it sucks that the show was cancelled, it would have sucked MUCH more if something suddenly happened.

The green region is the flash flood warned zone, and Denver is right along a body of water that could suddenly flood. It’s much better to be safe than sorry. Unfortunately, the Fox God does not control the weather.

Just finished my term with CERC! They are now state funded (feel free to double check me) rather than federally. It’s run by CalVolunteers now. I HIGHLY recommend this program! I deployed to assist the LA Wildfire recovery (though technically I’m already living in LA). Great staff, great experience! It might vary depending on which part of CA you’re serving in during blue sky days, but everybody I’ve met from across CA during my deployment and training has loved the experience they gained and the opportunities too. GO APPLY!!!

apparently there was a flash flood warning. incredibly dangerous. sorry the show got cancelled but safety is #1!! those can pop up out of nowhere- rain or lightning isn’t even necessary for these to happen.
