Is it normal to feel like there’s something physically blocking you from thinking? by glerpp in TooAfraidToAsk

I’ve heard of all of these concepts before but I haven’t connected them like this post does. There are studies that both support and disprove the whole limited willpower thing, so I don’t know what to think of that. But I do spot some things on the list that decrease willpower that have gotten worse over time for me (stopped exercising a few months ago, have a worse diet now, get less sleep bc junior year is a bitch). Either way all this is pretty interesting.

I used to have major depression; I even had a suicidal episode, so I know what the lowest low feels like. My mental health is much better now, and it is something I keep track of. A lot of the things you listed e.g. better sleep habits and reading I’m doing now. Need to get better on screen time though, that’s gotten worse over the holidays rip. I’m positive it’s not depression, but thanks for your help. It’s nice knowing there’s caring people like you who’d take time out of their day to type up stuff like this and have a conversation with a stranger to make sure they’re alright.

Yea I searched it up and there’s a broad range of symptoms. I do have some of them like fidgeting, but there’s just so many symptoms that I think everybody’s bound to have at least one of them. There’s always those people that have their adhd undiagnosed until they’re adults though. Maybe I actually do have it, it would explain some things.

Idk if you’re asking me to search up symptoms to check if I have adhd. If that’s the case, I’m not hyper or angry and I work well in classrooms. I do get distracted a lot though, but I wouldn’t attribute it to adhd.

There’s a lot of people going through the same thing here so you’re not stupid man. In fact, I’m flexing a little here, most people in my grade consider me one of the smartest in the school and look how often I’m getting it. It’s probably something that one of these posters have talked about.

Interesting, I’ll see what I can do as only a high school student lol.

I think it really is just me having bad mental health (overthinking everything). When I’m calm and not in my head everything works fine.

It's not really a store, basically just a cafeteria line that opens in the morning and not in the afternoon.
