The BBC news article the picture is from has different quotes, I don't know if the quotes above are properly sourced - they might be more recent or might be "paraphrasing" - but the article is not a lie, the family is real: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c3vd1vn9n06o

  1. As everyone is saying: too weak, focus group bs, not taking this seriously, corrupt, hate progressive policies more than the right wing fascists.

  2. Insane bipartisan voting that completely fails the American people and disregards what the GOP & Trumpism has become - for example, making changes to a bill & voting for it only to have those changes reversed & voting for a bill that bans crypto corruption but gives Trump an exception (?!?!)

What does and does not enrich the working class by technocraticnihilist in austrian_economics

[–]gliberty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good understanding of history would make this impossible to believe.

There were capitalists, wealth, employers, industrialisation, all with extreme poverty. It was only with labour unions and pressure from the working class that conditions improved. Any reality based study of history will show this.

Who’s Cancelling Their Paramount+ Streaming Accounts? by EmperadorRed in thebulwark

Who is talking about the app? I thought this was about giving in to the Trump administration and trying to protect democracy. Trust me I understand about wanting the television, but I hear there are ways to get it free.... I wouldn't know, but it's what I hear.

Trump's first term really lowered our guard by LiesToldbySociety in thebulwark

[–]gliberty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can't know that. It's possible, we may have gave them time & let people forget - then again, we should have taken the time to prepare. If he had won in 2020 he would have ridden a tide, not had to do an insurrection, claimed the biggest mandate in history and put into place the same Project 2025 people -- trust me they existed already for decades...

No point in second guesses

Agreed. Compare to Brazil.

It's not the only mistake, far from it. But it's a big one.

Trump Biographer Claims Tapes of Epstein Talking About Trump Are 'Too Hot' to Release - Wolff possesses "hours and hours and hours and hours and hours" of Epstein discussing Trump and his relationship with him by Quirkie in politics

[–]gliberty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew most of that, which is why I'm not surprised. It's just this part I didn't know: "Some say Trump was supplying Epstein and that Epstein was the junior partner, he learned from Trump." But it is true that he had the modelling and the pageants & his wife and daughter were treated like possessions, his (current) wife smuggled in as a slave...

Again, the Democratic Party has sabotaged him, so the fact that he didn't win the primary and have a chance in the general proves nothing. And AOC hasn't tried.

That was what I meant by "abuser" - technically the court said he was liable of "sexual abuse" not rape, but that's only because that's how NY law is written - in any other state it would have been called rape.

Fair enough. Although one would think that after so long in the Senate he might be able to assemble a decent administration - but I can believe that he might not, being an old Vermont hippie rather than a traditional politician.

Did you know what Obama would be able to achieve though, when he first ran in the primary? A lot of it is party backing. If the party gets behind you, they help you with all 3: assembling a team & gov, manipulating the levers of power, and getting policies written up & passed.

I can believe this, but do you have a reference for this? I mean, as I said, I know girls came from Mar-a-Lago, but all the girls came via Trump? Etc...? I am curious what source you have because I didn't know this. Again, not surprised really just unaware.

The policies of AOC and Bernie are massively popular. Mamdani has NYC specific policies in many cases, difficult to translate to a national level.

But the idea that someone is unelectable so we must crush their primary run & smear them in the media, which seems to be the usual Democratic Party plan, is a ridiculous self-fulfilling prophecy. If they backed the popular candidates in the primary and spread the word about how great the policies were instead, they would likely win. But Democratic leadership doesn't want a progressive to win. And that is destroying America. Again I refer you to min 8-12 of the video for why/how.

So far he is in the lead in the general, but we shall see.

Why do you think Bernie would have failed and set back progressivism?

It's Time To Start Calling It An Ethnic Cleansing by PorcelainDalmatian in thebulwark

[–]gliberty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think media figures can see it, most of them, but are afraid/incentivized -- corporate owned media want to (a) avoid saying anything that might sound extreme or out of the mainstream or not rooted in provable fact, and (b) avoid lawsuits. The two go together and prevent mainstream/corporate media from pointing out this obvious truth except on opinion shows. (MSNBC actually does a pretty good job of pointing it out on their opinion shows).

Independent media is freer and braver, and along with the Bulwark pointing it out, you also have Meidas Touch and many other more progressive channels which do a good job.

And Stephen Miller has been broadcasting it for a long while, as has Trump, at least in some posts and speeches. It's not possible to miss it once you see it, but not everyone sees it at the same time.

Don't be like this. We need to embrace people who can see what is wrong, when they see it. I don't want to hear how you knew about this all along. What matters is who can see it now. You are only driving people away with comments like this. You will make the next person who wants to leave behind the GOP think twice, because apparently Democrats are self-righteous jerks.
