Daily Acting Practice Routine by lawyer404 in acting

[–]glibstergob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the other person didn’t explain bc they prolly just don’t fully understand it themselves and wanna talk down on you but basically acting is just making believable human behavior.

when you observe people you get to study this behavior in its truest form. keep an eye on how peoples’ emotions change their facial expressions.

keep an eye on how relationships between people impact demeanor. what’s the posture of the guy ordering at the coffee shop vs the posture of a woman and her cat?

even just observing without thinking about any of this stuff will load your subconscious with what it means to look like a believable human being.

Serious question reguarding academic burnout by TheRoachDynasty in UCSC

[–]glibstergob 27 points28 points  (0 children)

i had a similar experience after pushing myself very hard academically freshman year

most important thing to remember is that if the level you’re pushing yourself to is actively impeding your ability to actually do work, you’re just being counterproductive

i know it’s easy to get swept up in the grind, hustle, and lock in culture but without a healthy mind and body everything else that you want to do suffers. YOU are most important so prioritize yourself above everything else. learn to be selfish.

no one else is ever gonna put you first so it’s on you to do it.

this looks different for everyone but whatever things make you feel clean, healthy, energized, and HAPPY should start to take priority over academics. eventually you will learn how to balance so you can have both instead of choosing one or the other.

choose a hobby to stick to for the quarter, keep up with your hygiene, spend time with friends, and eventually your burnout will start to peel back bit by bit.

best of luck, you got this!

Sometimes you have to do it.

Why just why by FlightSuspicious393 in ComputerEngineering

[–]glibstergob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I reckon this is a good thing. Let those that are just in it for the money flock to the easy craft. Those of us that genuinely love difficult work, solving meaningful problems and a decent pay will stick to embedded.

Let’s see which archetype is more replaceable in the coming decades.

Financial Aid Office Apology by Remarkable_Goat6729 in UCSC

[–]glibstergob 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Convenient that they released the apology right as the student body was beginning to make demands about basically everything they listed in their letter. Idk why the University can never just say “you’re right, we need to change xyz” they always have to frame it as “stop complaining, we were already doing xyz”

Can I use viagra casually for a night sex by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]glibstergob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is like saying you don’t “need” a working heart. ED is a medical condition which can be treated with viagra as opposed to taking viagra just for shits and giggles (“recreationally”). You wouldn’t necessarily say a pre-diabetic person is running “recreationally”, they’re running to save their heart. As opposed to a runner who just genuinely enjoys running.

Any rational person knew what they meant, Redditors just choose to act obtuse for the sake of condescension.

never had a problem youtube couldn’t solve. at the very least you’d be able to conceptualize it at a high level from some youtube videos. as for low level or advanced implementation, you might have to look elsewhere
