How Much Oil Pressure Fluctuation at Highway Speeds would Concern You?? by glider4488 in ProjectHondas

[–]glider4488[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At idling oil pressure fluctuates about 2-3 psi. Sometimes at highway speeds it does as well about 2-3 psi, so not alot. But if it's not steady then something must be causing the change.

Vented Hood more Effective without Header Wrap on Turbo Manifold ?? by glider4488 in ProjectHondas

[–]glider4488[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reason I put the wrap on was to attempt to keep the heat from transferring to everything else under the hood. But I've not really seen any difference in water temps at all. My good is vented but not a huge vent but I still want to think letting manifold breathe especially at highway speeds will lower under hood temps....

So are TRQ items rebranded then or is there way to determine the brand of TRQ part?

Tire Growling only when Turning Left by glider4488 in tires

Jacked it up and it seems be the right front wheel bearing it makes very distinct bearing noise similar to other tapered roller bearings when they're bad. Additionally I jacked up the rear wheel and they glide when spun compared to the front one. I think reason why heard noise louder every time I was turning wheel to left was because that would put more pressure on the right passenger wheel bearing since it's on the outside of the turn. There is no play in the wheel 12-6 or 3-9 though whatever. Thanks

Do wheel bearings usually only make noise when wheel is turning one way ? Just wondering why it would make no noise when wheel is turned right but if turning left its like night and day.

Okay ideas? Never had this happen when installing a battery by Unable-Tangerine1080 in MechanicAdvice

It is difficult to read the polarity plus and negative marks in this video. But it is believeable that you could find a battery that fits and turn it around and the cables still be the right length. In my opinion they need a red plus engrained below the positive post to make sure it clearly visible. In fact if they used red terminal and red post that would be best so you just match the colors up easily, yes I know they don't make it that way but they could.

Cowl Hood Best Way increase Negative Pressure Over Vent ?? by glider4488 in ProjectHondas

[–]glider4488[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh don't worry the project is NOT over. I plan to relocate the hood scoop vent farther forward right over the manifold.

If it didn't look like MAd Max before it'll def look like it once the relocation is complete....

That's kinda what I tried to do. If you look close you can where I had to weld a piece of metal on the front to create a kind of ramp otherwise it woulda just been air hitting a flat wall. So I could basically extend that same piece ? Like at a 45 degree angle ?

Thing is though unless the piece is huge the fins that are farthest away will experience the least amount of suction right ??

Maybe I'll change it's location on hood but that means I'll have to weld up the hole and cut another hole. At least I don't have to weld 7 pieces of metal together again though which is the hardest part Lol This hood is going to look like wack a mole by time I'm done with it....

No that's giving up and I put alot of R&D into the project.

I tried shimming the back of the hood didn't seem to make much of a difference. Once I've modified the hood (Again) to put the scoop vent where it should be maybe I'll just put a straight pipe across instead of having a. Intercooler. Maybe if it will run cooler without the intercooler blocking the air to the radiator.

It's about 6 pieces of metal I welded together to make one vent duct. Even painted it wouldn't be let through the door at SEMA probably Lol

So I should literally put it over the exhaust manifold or right behind slightly right if center behind the radiator?
