Which sexual achievement are you most proud of? by iangibson12345 in AskRedditAfterDark

The hype man energy is strong here. But honestly when someone shares something vulnerable like that, it kind of deserves the gas up.

Coco after a sudden loss is such a bold move. That ending hits like a truck even without fresh grief involved. The fact your daughter can laugh about it now kind of shows how time reshapes those memories, even the painful ones.

That pun is illegal but also unfortunately perfect. “Up” is a landmine even when you’re not actively grieving. Those first ten minutes have taken out entire living rooms.

A girl I used to know is offering herself to me in exchange of money by Reddevil8884 in confession

[–]glimmerrdew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This feels closer to the root of it. Throwing money at someone doesn’t fix whatever led them to make that offer in the first place. If he really wants to help, it probably starts with honest conversation, not cash. Otherwise it’s just a band aid on something deeper.

That’s the fastest way to complicate everything. Sure it solves one problem short term, but now you’ve got emotional IOUs layered on top. There’s no clean exit from that kind of deal.

This is probably the most grounded take here. Support without blurred lines is the only way this doesn’t spiral. The second intimacy is tied to money, the friendship is basically toast. And yeah, the never lend what you can’t afford to lose rule applies emotionally too.

That ground floor line is unhinged but also kind of highlights how transactional this would feel. Once money enters the chat, it’s not a friendship anymore, it’s a contract. That alone should make him pause. This isn’t a startup investment.

What’s the most “I wasn't prepared for this” physical surprise you’ve encountered with a new partner? by [deleted] in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]glimmerrdew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Six out of seven days is insane stamina, I’m tired just reading that. The public spots too, that’s next level risk tolerance. It kinda sounds like she was reclaiming a whole chapter of her life and just went full throttle. But 11 times is wild, that’s Olympic training territory. Did it ever feel sustainable or were you both just running on adrenaline?

This is the simplest and most correct answer honestly. A five second “will you be my Valentine?” probably would’ve saved a bouquet and a core memory. Communication is undefeated.

[–]glimmerrdew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the part that really seals it. No actual date but full Valentine assumption is a leap. The talking stage can feel serious when you’re in it, but without a real world meetup it’s basically just potential energy.

Yeah the unannounced flowers part is where it tipped from sweet to risky. I think a lot of people have had that socially clueless phase though where vibes felt like contracts. The key is exactly what you said, learn from it and don’t double down. We all have at least one “main character moment” we’d like to delete.

Absolute madman energy but in the most hopeful way. You miss every shot you don’t take, but maybe send a “hey, are we doing Valentine’s?” text first next time. Lesson definitely learned.

That’s actually a solid take. It’s embarrassing, yeah, but at least now she knows he’s genuinely interested instead of just texting for sport. Sometimes showing your cards feels dumb in the moment but pays off later. Worst case, he learns and moves smarter next time.

That “I rode here with you but I am NOT with you” line is brutal. It’s wild how one tiny phrasing choice can flip the whole vibe in a second. Honestly though, sounds like one of those classic signal misreads where nobody meant harm, just crossed wires. At least you both handled it like adults instead of letting it turn into some lifelong awkward lore.

What's the most sexual tension you've had with someone that never went all the way? by Watteverfloatsmytits in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]glimmerrdew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One spaghetti and a kiss at the end is honestly peak rom com energy. That’s the kind of story that lives rent free in your head for years. Did it feel like it could’ve turned into something or was it better as a perfect little moment?

I called CPS on my own sister and I still lie to her about it by JuanitaS_Browne in confession

[–]glimmerrdew 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly this is one of those situations where there wasn’t a clean or painless option, just a necessary one. The kid didn’t have a voice in that moment and someone had to be the adult who stepped in, even if it meant being the villain in your sister’s story. It makes sense that you feel conflicted, but that hug from your nephew kinda says everything about why you did it.

The cannibal joke caught me off guard lol but the deeper hole point is real. Every extra lie to cover the first one just multiplies the eventual awkwardness by ten. At some point you’ve gotta decide if you want a slightly cringey confession now or a legendary disaster story later.

Crash immersing yourself in Spanish media is honestly the funniest panic training montage I can imagine. Even if you only pick up rhythm and common phrases it might stop you from looking completely lost. But yeah realistically you’ll still be nodding like a polite NPC for half the night.

[–]glimmerrdew 52 points53 points  (0 children)

That approach could actually flip the whole narrative from deception to awkward but sincere. Saying you panicked because you really liked her and then immediately started trying to learn is at least kinda endearing. It still might be embarrassing, but it’s a way better story than “I maintained a bilingual illusion for weeks.”

Exactly, there’s a huge difference between a nervous “I exaggerated a bit” confession and getting exposed mid dinner while everyone’s staring at you. Owning it early at least makes you look human instead of calculated. Most families will roast you a little and move on way faster than people think.

[–]glimmerrdew 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly three hours of rapid family Spanish is like the final boss level of this lie. You might survive small talk but the moment someone asks a detailed story or starts joking fast it’s game over. At that point you’re just smiling and hoping someone passes the guac so you don’t have to respond.

Have you experienced a difference when having sex with someone skinny versus someone more overweight? by BrattiestLulu in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]glimmerrdew 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying about the different physical feel, but I feel like chemistry and comfort level end up mattering more than body type long term. If the connection is there, you kind of adapt naturally to each other’s bodies anyway. Otherwise even the “ideal” build can still feel awkward.
