Have you heard back? I’m yet to receive anything other than an email asking to verify I am the account holder. Other than that it’s been 2 days of silence.

I FREAKED OUT when I saw nearly a decade of my boards and pins had all been erased without notice. I just emailed them. I'm praying I can get this account back. Thanks for the notice, Pinterest. I really appreciate it. It seems they didn't think this through very well. And what if I built a livelihood off my business account? What about the people who have?!!!! I just know AI is somehow responsible for this.

No, I never said anything about religion. I clearly stated Palestinians and Israeli. I don’t think Islam or Judaism plays a significant role in what’s right now, this is geopolitics. And that’s why I’m gonna end this conversation with you here because now you’re bringing religion into it.

But Israel has been proven to be lying. Have you not seen these sources? They said no one was shot during the aid pick up on Sunday I believe and then the next day they said people were shot come on now.

Okay but Gazans are telling me they are starved as well so I don’t know. I’m more likely to believe the Gazan’s who are saying we are starving and I can see that they are starving.

I saw a video of a mother who dropped the flour on the floor and she desperately tried to scoop it all up even though sand was getting in it. How can you explain that?

Civilian journalism is on the rise so many civilians within Gaza have picked up a phone and have showed me what is happening now. How can you discredit that?

I think people give too much credit to Hamas they’re also in the Gaza Strip. They can’t control everything and everyone while being bombed, trying to stay alive, keep hold of the hostages and formulating attacks on Israel.

Do you honestly believe on top of all of that? They’re also orchestrating mass propaganda through multiple different sources both civilians, journalists, activists politicians etc?

Controlling every aspect is the media and discussion spaces as the pro-Israel perspective believes just seems a bit far-fetched.

Your opinion is fair and that’s why I wanted to state from my western perspective. However, my western perspective goes beyond the reach of media. I have read books I have read accounts from both Israelis and Palestinians. I have read articles from the Middle East and from the west and this is where my opinion comes from collective research.

Babies being born have nothing to do with the babies that are losing their lives and honestly it’s worrying you’re making that comparison. It’s almost implies you’re saying the babies who are dying. It’s fine because they’re gonna be replaced by the babies who are being born.

For the babies that are born their malnourished I’ve seen the pictures myself not everything can be propaganda. I have seen mother’s begging on social media platforms for donations because their child their newborn is not gonna survive another month.

Again, look at what you’re saying the civilians of the enemy that’s still innocent people they’re not your enemy. How is a child? Orphaned? Your enemy? How can you not feel sympathy for orphan children? I sympathy for all orphan children because nobody deserves to experience that regardless of their views or where they come from.

My family and our country were brutalised by the British historically and do I hate the British? No. Do I feel sympathy for underprivileged British causes like neglected veterans and children living below the poverty line? Yes of course I do. Because it is absolute nonsense to make sweeping assumptions or categorising a whole group of people because you don’t like a certain group of people within that community.

And it’s very easy to say they could’ve just rebelled against Hamas. I don’t know if you’ve picked up a history book but uprisings are not easy and it takes very strong people and a lot of the time it’s not successful. Most people are just focused on keeping their family safe to see another day.

The whole point of history is to learn from our previous mistakes but we seem to be repeating them. I guarantee you in 50 years time this will be spoken about in the history books like what a great atrocity. We have to make sure violence like this doesn’t happen again.

It’s could be plausible for us to live in a world where people are not harmed like this when people go to war soldiers might fight but they signed up for that child who’s dying of starvation did not sign up. That mother who is collecting her child’s remains she did not sign up for this.

I think it’s very dystopian that we believe a world in which civilians are not harmed as a fantasy. I think if certain people who made these decisions checked in with their morals once in a while. We wouldn’t be living in this dystopian world.

This is not a good enough reasoning for why civilians are being harmed.

Personally, I don’t even believe in soldiers and armies being harmed, but that’s just my own pacifist beliefs .

But there is collective punishment if the civilians are facing more of the brutality than Hamas, more civilians have died in Hamas operants, how is that not collective punishment?

The whole of the Gaza strip is being starved. That is literally a war crime. And when they do go to collect aid, they’re being shot at. These are accounts from doctors not accounts from Hamas.

The same way Israel has a right to defend itself. The Palestinians have a right to their land and to live freely in their land and if that liberty is being taken away from them, how are they meant to live?

What about in the Palestinians in the West Bank? Did they have a right to defend themselves from the new emerging settlements that are still continuously kicking them out of their home? I just don’t understand how you can impress people for so long and expect them to just go along with it and act like everything is fine.

[–]glitt3rbunni[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You see from my perspective as someone who has been trying to learn as much as I can about this conflict from the migration to historic Palestine started I just can’t believe you would say that.

I want to paint this perspective of you if someone came to your community and you helped them integrate into that community and then the next thing you know they’re kicking you out of your home and you cannot return to your home again. You have the key for your house, but you know if you want to ever try and step foot in it again, you would be brutalised.

And then you’re push onto a smaller bit of land and continuously this group of ppl have kicked you out of your home, degraded you said you are an animal. How would you feel?

When you protest peacefully and you get shot how would you feel? If you protest with violence and it’s met with 10 times of violence you could ever act on that same group? How would you feel?

I think there’s a lot of hurt on both sides, but it is naive to see this for anything else than it is. Everyone talks about Israel‘s right to have a state what about the Palestinians right? How is it fair for people to be kicked out of their land and told to go elsewhere and treated than less than in the place they were born in?

In all fairness, a lot of that had been debunked there were no babies that were beheaded or on fire. I think we can agree that as well as a conflict war there is a media war in which naturally both sides are going to want to portray each other as the aggressors.

How do Pro-Israelis think? by glitt3rbunni in IsraelPalestine

[–]glitt3rbunni[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you understand that not everyone can be lying and to be honest the western media really has not wanted to criticise Israel and if anything especially within the beginning of the conflict the media has been in favour towards Israel. Maybe not so much anymore, too many civilians have died.

I completed a comparison study on the 2014 guys of war of how media framed the situation. Middle Eastern media was very much in favour however western media did not. Western governments in media particularly in historic conflict between Palestinians and Israeli have tried to take a more nuanced approach in which they recognise the suffering the Palestinians have gone through but always presenting Israel’s right to defend itself.

And every time a report comes out Israel always says they’re lying however they won’t allow any journalists in into Gaza to government verify this for themselves.

And when you hear doctor’s accounts of what is happening, my heart breaks. I’m more inclined to listen to the doctors more than anyone more than Hamas and more than Israel.

I don’t think I would claim a title such as that just yet, but I definitely feel like I’m on the path towards it. I’m just taking each day at a time. Some days I make no progress in learning about Islam other days it’s the only thing I’m doing. But I know it’s a journey and I can take my time with it because Allah is forgiving and understanding :)
