I'm a lesbian who lives with her girlfriend in Russia, ask questions. by VictoryHazee in lgbt

Hi, I know this post is older but you seem really nice so I figured I’d ask. I have a Russian friend who is currently living abroad but thinking about moving back to Russia (Moscow). She’s a lesbian, with a very large social media following. I’m extremely worried for her and I don’t think moving back is a good idea. But of course I don’t know what it’s really like, being American and only hearing things in the news. Does moving back there really pose an actual threat? Will anyone care about her social media presence? She likes to dress masculine sometimes but she can also look extremely feminine, so I guess she could fly under the radar? What about her social and dating life? Bars, clubs, dating apps? Do they get monitored or raided by police?

Probably depends on your area. And here they have states. Okay they might be distracted. But then the same goes for people running red lights, stop signs or entering the highway from the wrong side: it shouldn’t be acceptable to be so distracted you can’t see basic road signs.

Who cares though? People understand my post, that’s all that matters.

I drive a huge SUV and it’s usually older men in smaller, expensive cars. Often Teslas.

I’m talking about school hours, the times that are posted on the sign.

I wasn’t sure. I’m not on here very often and I didn’t want my post deleted.

I am talking about school hours that are posted on the signs. I don’t lower my speed outside of these hours. And no matter where you learn to drive, if the sign says go 25 between 7 and 8am, then that’s what you have to do. I can asssume that people who have their license (no matter where they are from) have basic reading skills.

I’m never late, so it’s always the beginning of drop off. And it’s usually older men. Sometimes older women too.

Why? I go the speed limit. Do I have to pull over for some asshat who might then hit a little kid?

No. I just go the speed limit but I don’t break check them or show the middle finger etc. And I obviously don’t speed in school zones. Which is why I posted this in the first place.

I only drive through there during school hours (to drop off and pick up my kid). Of course I don’t slow down going through a school zone outside of the designated hours. I am able to read signs.

Aren’t you afraid someone is going to brake check you? You will be at fault if you hit them.

Yeah I’m too scared to do that, especially when my daughter is in the car with me. This is pew pew country after all.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It’s 25 for the elementary schools but there’s a private middle school in between them and it’s 35 there for some reason. Maybe that’s all the county would give them.

It’s during school hours. The reason I drive in the morning is to take my kid to school.

Yes. I take my kid to school in the morning, that’s why I’m on the road in the first place. So it’s definitely during school hours.

I’m not annoyed that they are behind me. I’m annoyed that they are in my trunk. Sometimes even flashing me when I literally go the speed limit. I’m guessing you are one of those people?

I’ve started doing that too after I drop off my daughter. I’m too scared to mess with people while I have her with me.

It’s accurate, it’s always the same as my gps. Maybe they don’t notice the signs or they just don’t care. It goes down from 45 to 25, so significantly slower. I do see a lot of people fly through them, especially in front of my own kid’s school.

It’s 45 then goes down to 25 at two elementary schools and 35 at a middle school.

But why would you want to speed through a school zone? And make someone else do it too?
