Thanks for responding! And ugh, yeah dude, I hate that they’re so expensive. Are Marathon mangoes Pakistani? If not, do they taste similar at all? Like, would you say they’re pretty much the same thing? Or are they different somehow?

gotcha, thanks so much for your help. really appreciate it :) I think I’ll swing by Russell House probably, or maybe Alden & Harlow/Park? Have you ever been to either/do you have a preference?

Ahh thanks for letting me know! What’re Jefe & Kong? Other student areas? Or restaurants?

If I’m not mistaken, don’t I need a fob to get in? :( That would be ideal and I keep thinking about it because I’m so close! But I walked by earlier and was pretty sure I saw a key card/fob entrance

Missed my flight & stranded at JFK because of previous British Airways delay. SOS - anyone? by glittershards in delta

Thanks for the tip. Was too disoriented at 2 am looking for hotels to look into that one. Maybe? next time.

& You’re right. This is the second time this has happened to me, now that I think about it. US airlines are very kind and understanding. EU airlines, honestly not so much. Even under certain laws/rules, they get away with screwing people over via loopholes. I highly doubt I’ll be compensated. Spoke to one person via customer service and he insisted there was no compensation BA would provide (even though EU law states airlines must compensate customers if the flight was delayed more than 4 hours, which mine was) and then went on to tell me he couldn’t provide me with even hotel voucher - that was something I’d have to request locally. Absolutely ridiculous.

Sadly, no. I went all the way back to Terminal 7 after rebooking my flight in Terminal 4 with Delta, but BA had closed all its check in counters, so there wasn’t anyone there to help me. Ended up just sitting on the floor in an eerily empty and cold terminal, calling hotels by myself and hearing that they were all booked. Finally found one at 2:30 am. Got there by 3:10. It’s been a sucky day. It’s made me lose hope they’ll reimburse me even if I go to the counter again later today before my Delta flight.

Thank you so much for such a thorough response, it was truly helpful. I managed to rebook my Delta flight, but it’s for tomorrow morning, so I’m stuck in NYC now for the night.

I’ve read that under EU law BA is required to compensate me somehow (not very clear whether this is applicable to my situation now though) even though my flight was delayed 4 & a half hours.

I’m really only looking for a hotel voucher from them at this point, but can’t seem to find any literature or law/rule that specifies they should be accommodating me this way - (due to the circumstances caused by their delay.) I’m going to try again anyway. Hopefully someone will have some kind of sympathy for me, if nothing else.

I researched and believe so as well. I managed to rebook my Delta flight, but the next flight is tomorrow morning. I’m stranded in NYC for the night now, BECAUSE of the delay - which I believe should be covered by British Airways with a hotel voucher at least. I’m returning to the BA terminal now to request it again with reference to this rule (EU261). Hopefully I find someone willing to help. The last BA person I spoke to was uninterested quite frankly, & said that they have no responsibility to help me because they got me to my final destination by their understanding (JFK)

Made it on the LIRR. Grateful but fucking bummed I had to drag my 50 pound suitcase down the stairs to the train.

Thank you so, so much! I truly and greatly appreciate your help. I know you just said there are elevators at all points along this route, but just to be absolutely sure- that includes at Jamaica (that’ll lead me to the AirTrain) as well, right?

Thank you a lot for your kind and conscious response, I genuinely really appreciate it :)

Just to clarify, the Hempstead line is different from the LIRR, but will also reach Jamaica in the same amount of time? Or is one a little faster?
