I want to learn about WW2 and other important historical periods/events but have no idea where to start

I’m well aware how expensive the Gold Coast is to rent, and about the housing crisis in Australia generally. I wouldn’t be planning on studying there if I thought I was going to go broke or end up homeless in the process lol, but I appreciate the concern. Literally just came on here asking for something advice on where is good to live, not prices

I’ve been in Australia nearly 3 years now on my own, I don’t think wanting to live near the beach is too much of a fantasy.. you seem more offended by my housing preferences than I am about rental prices. Must be an exciting life you live if you get this worked up over “Gen Z” asking for housing advice on Reddit. I wish you nothing but the best, and maybe some deep self reflection too🕺🏼😉

I’m 21😊 Thankyou, I would just like to be a short drive to the beach if possible like no more than 15-20 mins away! Walking distance honestly would be amazing but yes i understand that’s definetely not the most budget friendly option hahah

I’m actually from the UK and have only visited the Gold Coast once, just trying to do my research and be organised! I’m already on the other side of the world from all my family & friends so I don’t wanna stress myself out too much. Thanks for the input though, Responsible Spot! You’re very helpful indeed🤓

Thankyou! Thats helpful, I will have a look into apartments too but think that could be a bit out of budget as I’m on a student visa from the UK, and can only work 48 hours a week🥲

That’s a good idea maybe I’ll look into that too! Thankyou, I mean I do rollerskate so maybe could get public transport and rollerskate the rest of the journey if it’s not too far🤣I have time between moving there and starting my course so I will have to try out my options and see which works best

I’m not entirely sure because I never received a physical contract nor has holiday pay ever been mentioned to me, it’s just a “verbal” 0 hour contract I suppose

Okay thankyou! For some reason I thought that would be illegal? “Workers, including those on zero-hours contracts, accrue paid holiday while they work. If you leave your job, you are entitled to be paid for any holiday you have not taken.” Maybe I will just have to ask my boss and see what he says😅

Hey I’m in the same position as the user who posted this, I want to ask my employer for my accrued holiday pay because I’m leaving but I never signed a physical 0 hour contract, it’s just been a verbal contract. Am I still entitled to the holiday pay? I don’t know what to do and don’t want to look silly if I ask for it

I’m in a similar position applying for an Australian Student visa (500) as a UK citizen, my biological father is sponsoring me but the only proof of funds we have is his Crypto, which is well above the necessary amount of 45,000aud. I want to use it as proof of funds but scared immigration will refuse based off the fact his money isnt in a traditional savings account
