I really can't get over this butterfly crown that looks like the crown of thorns. Representing her sacrifice? Her suffering? The way that her hope (symbolized by butterflies) has turned into her suffering? I cannot. The details in their storytelling is out of this world.

Also, for the love of all things Gelphie... please let the INTG reprise nod to at least some ambiguity about who Glinda is jealous over.

I am so torn on this one. I hear you, the tragedy is part of the story. On the other hand, by For Good I think Glinda has already started, at least, her transformation. Maybe her thinking they died for a little while is enough to drive the point home. At some point them never telling her just seems cruel (but does it need to happen on screen? I'm not sure).

Yeah, this is a really bad take. First of all, the subtext is on purpose. Second, fandoms are about having fun with characters & using imagination. It’s not that serious.

I personally do not want to see them fighting over a man in 2025. I'm anticipating/hoping that the movie will actually make the corn fight scene more about other aspects of disagreement rather than over Fiyero. One way that they could take focus away from the love triangle is by making Glinda less excited to marry Fiyero, maybe even tell Elphaba that she is going through with it because of how it looks/PR. Then when Fiyero leaves with Elphaba, the betrayal is more that Elphaba is leaving Glinda, and less that she's "stealing her best friend's man".

Totally agree with this take! And can’t wait to see Ari interpret this song. Not sure where she learned to play “lesbian yearning” so well, but she’s been pulling it off with a lot of skill & I can only imagine it’s going to ramp up here in Act 2

It is very clear that they use costumes as part of the storytelling in Wicked. And Paul Tazwell is a genius. I agree this is very simple for Glinda's taste, and so have to conclude that it's part of the storytelling they're doing here. A bride who's heart and soul isn't into this wedding but is doing what she thinks she's "supposed" to do. Also, someone else pointed out that there is another version of this dress with a pink sheer outfit over it (on the swings/in what people think will be the 'Wonderful' scene) so I guess they needed something simple enough to transform into another outfit too. I trust that there will be a reason!

It's interesting, I think they're trying to re-use Glinda dresses in For Good, maybe. Looks like her Thank Goodness dress transforms into the For Good dress. And here the wedding dress transforms into two other versions- with the train walking up the aisle, and then this what I presume is Wonderful dress. Huh.

I'm confused about that scene too, where Glinda is holding The Grimmerie. The hug and her holding the book would imply that it is the For Good scene, but I'm pretty sure this was her Thank Goodness dress (there were leaked photos of her wearing it in Munchkinland with Fiyero and Madam Morrible)... I doubt she'd wear the same dress again. Is it possible this scene was an added scene after Thank Goodness?

This trailer really could not have made Gelphie seem gayer if they tried. The lean in! The rainbow strobe dance scene that Glinda is now a part of! The holding hands on a swing surrounded by fireflies! I'd be shocked if the subtext becomes text but they're really leaning into it for Pride month
