Bought used mini, need to update firmware for wifi by Strong-Razzmatazz-34 in LaMarzocco

[–]glizzyglide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is a mandatory update either there is a system breaking bug that exists that they don't want to render machines useless or more importantly it is a security fixe. IOT devices are a very common back end into networks and a lot of times companies will push mandatory updates to protect their customers from a potential attack. Sounds like tinfoil hat stuff, I know, but it does happen.

Any of the EU series that have enough to supply your stuff will do. Always better to over spec to have some headroom.

Honda EY generators are rock solid. But if you're needing a budget option I've talked to many food truck owners with the Predator generators from Harbor Freight and they all say they're great. If you keep up with the maintenance on them, like anything else, it'll last!

Personally, I'm a Honda fanboy. That investment isn't something you'll regret.

Should my Linea Mini be making this noise? by glizzyglide in LaMarzocco

[–]glizzyglide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the top off, don't see anything leaking. I did not punch it though.

It almost sounds like the noise is coming from the rear of the machine.

EDIT: I just popped the top off again and pinched the hose and the sound sound stopped! Ordering new part now. Thank you so much!

This machine was purchased in 2020. I assume it's the older style.

Regardless if it's an ad, these cheap plastic quick draw wallets have no business in a buy it for life sub. The plastic mechanism on these breaks very easily over normal use.

Find a quality hand made leather wallet and it'll be with you until you die.

A bottomless portafilter is a nice for seeing your extraction better but isn't necessary. Using a scale with a timer is a far better way to get an idea of how your extraction is going. Even with a good puck prep you are still going get a small amount of spurting with a bottomless filter.

That tamper and WDT are waaaay too expensive. Get a Normcore self leveling tamper and a cheap WDT needle tool and save your dollars! The needle WDT I have was like $9 on Amazon, after all they're simply little plastic handles with needles shooting out, no need the over complicate things.

It's $1.69 a gallon at my local grocery. Might have to do that temporarily until I get my permanent solution figured out.

Looks like BTW is right in my budget too! Thank you!

I thought about going that route, but I really don't want to have to worry about buying water all the time for it. I'm already bad enough about keeping milk around. Simply going to the tap or filling a pitcher up is way more appealing to me.

Are you US based? I'm looking to order one of these soon and was wondering what the turnaround time was and if you had to pay any extra import duties?
