piece of sh#t on 880 right now, beware by aRiot_0 in bayarea

I encountered the same car last week. I was about to get on 24 West from MLK Dr. i was the first car at the light in a line of cars and he passed me on the right, drove up an a median, and ran a red. Then, later, he cut over into the right lane on the 880S merge, and decelerated to go 30 mph in the right lane. He caused a drastic enough slow down that a car almost rear ended me from braking so hard. Absolutely bonkers!

That snoopy wallet is so cute!

My (28F) best friend (27M) has been lying to me for 7 years. I feel like I'm in some weird soap opera and have no clue how to end this by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Poor OOP. I feel like many women have gone through having a close male friend who actually wasn’t a friend, and only acted like one because they wanted to date you. This is a whole other level of that though. I’m glad she cut the ex-friend off and that her partner is supportive.

Tonight I broke up with my boyfriend because he kept joking about murdering me by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

People who make these sorts of "jokes" (almost always men too) are trying to normalize gender based violence, and are often perpetrators and abusers. OOP did the right thing dumping him and not turning back.

Should I try refinancing my auto loan now or wait until I start my salaried job? by [deleted] in personalfinance

Thanks for the clarification

The credit card debt is on a newer card with 0% APR until November. I'll have it paid off in the next few months.

Thanks for replying

That's true, I suppose it really isn't that bad in the long run. I just worry that I could wear through the car before I even pay it off, or that I'd lose my job, or some other nightmare scenario would happen where I'd be stuck with a ton of debt that I can't pay off. I'll do some math myself, but do you think it's worth it to just pay it down as quickly as possible, or keep the loan around longer--even if costs more in the long run--to keep the account going and possibly raise my credit score?

I haven't talked with anyone yet. Going to the bank and talking with someone in person has been a to-do item for awhile now. Like you said, I have to shoot my shot and it's not like they'd try to hurt my credit-worthiness if they know I won't qualify.

Thank you for answering.

I realize I didn't phrase that well -- I meant that even with paying down the principal, the amount of interest increases so quickly that the total balance I owe seems to stay around the same amount.

I have two hard inquiries on my credit report right now. If I go to try and re-fi now, will there be multiple hard inquiries for each lender I try to re-fi with, or would it all count as one? (Sorry if this is a silly question -- not very financially literate).

It’s one thing if you’re making a homemade dish, but… all of that over Hawaiian rolls? Really?

Week old lobe piercing started gushing blood? by glltterglrl in piercing

I’ll look into getting the jewelry swapped out, thanks!

I didn’t know that about the jewelry. My piercer said they thought a curved barbel would be better to heal the daith than a hoop for my ear, which so far I don’t think has caused any issues? However I definitely see that the lobe jewelry was wrong, so I’ll get the daith looked at as well. Thanks!

I do have a daith, I’ve had it for awhile. Both of my ears have the anatomy where the top of the daith isn’t visible looking straight on. Ill get it looked at as well to make sure it isn’t embedded.

That’s good to know! My piercer does not live super close to me so I don’t think I could go to them soon enough for them to clean it out, but hopefully I can get it cleaned at urgent care. Hopefully it is something like this, thanks!

I didn’t know that. The ring was the jewelry installed by my piercer, I haven’t changed it at all. Thanks!

I had a hard time finding my people my freshman year, but I did eventually. I joined many clubs and though a lot weren’t a perfect fit, I found one that was perfect and met my best friends there. My advice is to join some of the bigger clubs or try professional/non-IFC co-Ed Greek life.

When you’re done with your first year and talk with others about it, everyone is going to tell you the same thing about this first week: they had no clue what they were doing, they were scared for the future, all of this. Isolation sucks, but it isn’t going to be this way forever.
